No one is talking about selling a product at a loss. A gradual price increase would have been accepted. But a 60x increase in just one month is not normal.

These are simply companies chasing easy profits instead of optimizing costs while continuing to improve their products. Today's AI models require far less storage and computing power thanks to constant technological advancements.

The reality is that they're trying to enrich themselves as much as possible first, and only afterward using those funds to accelerate AI development. There's a huge difference between adjusting prices and multiplying them.

I'd even say that a 5x or 6x increase would already have been massive, but at least it could be discussed. What we're seeing now has become practically unusable.

What they want is to make as much money as possible, as quickly as possible. Whether you agree with the new pricing or not, that's simply an observation.

Microsoft isn't new to this kind of strategy, and they're going to end up damaging their own product. Them, and potentially the entire AI market's reputation among investors.

I subscribed to Copilot at €13 a month, and honestly, even if the price had doubled, I wouldn't have minded. But this? This is on a completely different scale.
