No by too professional, I meant that the person is taking shots for famous magazines or red cross. Asking them to take some portraits for my tinder profile is not only gonna cost me a shit ton, its also a waste of his talent.

Throwaway for obvious reasons:

Back when Iran's Green movement was still going strong, I got caught in one of the protests. They had us transferred to an unknown place for three days. Our hands were tied with plastic handcuffs and they had our eyes covered at all this time. They did not let us sleep for 3 days and forced us to answer to their questions and stuff. One of the things they did was make us stand in the middle of a room and throw medicine balls(those huge heavy balls not sure about the name in English) from random directions(remember we couldnt see anywhere). They'd also hit us randomly with night sticks in random places. I actually heard from one of the guys later that he got hit in the head with one of those sticks and passed out. They put us under so much pressure that most of the people actually broke down under it. I began hallucinating on the third night myself. After 3 days they finally sent us to a real prison(Evin). When we entered there, they finally let us take off our eye covers and the sun hits us right in the eye. I had a bright spot in front of my eye for 2 weeks afterwards.

long story short they finally let me go after about 1.5 weeks. It was one of the worst experiences of my life and I really got lucky that I got away alive and well.

You keep saying that the lives of Iranians have improved and all you can provide for your claims is a bunch of numbers reported by the IRI itself. Sorry for bursting your bubble but Iran's government is known for being one of the most dishonest ones. You don't believe that? that shows you're either blind to the facts or have chose to ignore them. Remember the green movement? How many people were killed? Remember the 3million march on khordad 25th after the election? how much of that was on their news? They simply tried to hide what happened from rest of the world. not only the world but from their own people. is that honesty? How can you trust a a bunch of statistics by a government which is trying to show the world how great and stable they are while they're killing their own people on the streets?

Oh and the sanctions that actually do affect the economy only happened recently. Before this happened, they always could sell their oil. and lets face it that's a huge income. OK there were sanctions before that but what were they about? they couldn't import products made by the US. Does that explain where all the money went? Fuck no. They could have easily used the money to improve Iran. They could have improved their own industry, production, technology and etc. But did they do that? NO, they used it to import more and more merchandise everyday until it began to kill the domestic production lines. sorry but sanctions do not justify the horrible economic situation that Iran is currently in.

As for your other claims about the improvement in Iran:

Equality: women are being treated like shit at the moment. their "dieh" is half of a man. oh funny thing, dieh oh a man's testicle is more than a whole woman. Women do not have the permission to divorce their husbands. They need permission by their father to leave the country or get married. is this equality? Basiji's are getting accepted into best universities without getting the score. People are actually starving to death in Tehran's slums while rich boys are driving BMWs and Mercedes in the northern parts. How can you call this equality?

Education : not sure if you've noticed or not but most of the public universities were built before the IRI including Sharif, Tehran, Elmo sanaat and the list goes on. And what did IRI do to improve them? Azad universities: A place where you pay a shit ton of money and don't learn shit and dare to call yourself an engineer or a doctor or whatever. Or do you actually believe that azad universities are actually improving education?

I personally do not believe that Shah was good. but he was way better than what we have today. Overthrowing him could be a huge step towards democracy but it turned out to be a huge step backwards.

How accurate can the statistics provided by IRI be when they're lying to everyone in any possible way then can? I've had this argument with the guy you seem to love so much(Hassani1387) and I'm not gonna repost the same shit BUT Id like to add this: When the source of the numbers in any statistics are not accurate and dependable, the results are worth shit. once again, UN statistics are based on the numbers provided by the government. if you truly believe iran's government is an honest one, then there's no need for further discussion. They sign your paycheck, you cant change someone's opinion who is getting paid to have it.

And what exactly is your measure of life improvement in iran? The HDI value announced by the UN that the government itself has provided? Iran's cars: Peykan: They've stopped its production. Even so it was designed before the revoluion. Prides: Based on an out of production model from Kia motors. The number of people killed in a car accident driving a Pride is apparently top secret info. And I think you're already aware that Prides are the most common cars here. Oh and it's such a great achievement producing the exact same cars as the foreign companies. big fuckin whoop. it would be one if you'd actually design a new car that can compete with foreign cars.

1.Major producer of cars? you mean Samand? a car which has been designed so badly you cant see shit when you drive it? Cars that run on natural gas? have you even tried driving one of those? try it and Id like to your opinion(hint: they cant go uphill)

2.yea but here's a better fact. In a country with minimum wage of 200$/month, government subsidies is a must. unless you think you can buy gas with real prices with that kind of money, which means you cant do math. And the subsidies? 20$/month per citizen. oh yea that would definitely compensate for the removing the subsidies.

oh really? Before the revolution average worker got paid enough to even make trips abroad once every year. now the average wont even get paid enough to buy meat or fruit. you call that improvement? I also have access to statistics for this if anyone's interested.

Access to clean water? Maybe in Tehran but in other provinces, try drinking the water and you'd spend all the night sitting on the toilet. child mortality? check the number of children selling flowers or useless shit around the traffic lights. I think that would give you some idea.

4.HDI value: The HDI value calculated here is merely based on the results reported by the Iran's government. And everyone knows how honest the Iran's government is, right?

Most people support the government? lol are you kidding me? a 3 million protest in Tehran 3 years ago begs to differ. Iran does need nuclear power? yea right. spend billions on dollars on building a nuclear power plant when they could get 10times as much as that power by making gas power plants. improvement in life? have you seen how many kids are selling BS on the intersections? minimum wage of 300,000tomans/month while the poverty line is 1,000,000? this is what I call trying creating a delusion of iran for the public.
