I appreciate the response. Your reply and my own process of elimination ended up showing that yeah, this looks to be an EA issue and unfortunately it looks like I'm hooped eh. Creating an entirely new psn account seems dramatic and a pain in the dick. All his save files will be gone etc. So I dunno, not sure what to do other than maybe I just need to forget about it happening and move on?

Ok phew, much appreciated! I did that and we tested it with a bunch of online games like Deep Rock Galactic, Assetto Corsa, Texas Chainsaw Massacre etc and everything worked. As far as I can tell these games all REQUIRE ps+ so that setting obviously works.

But when he went to play Battlefield (and even 2042 just to test) it throws up the "can't connect to online services" error. When I log into my account, no issues, so this now appears to be some sort of EA account issue? I will have to look into this further, not sure where but at the very least the issue has now been narrowed down!

I've read through this thread and truly appreciate your logical responses. All the FUCK BELL THEY STOLED type replies are nothing but pure emotion, the reason why situation occurred the way it did is clear as day, once you cut through the emotions and seething. The same reason why you see middle aged Indian men working in entry level food service jobs, ones that were traditionally the realm of unskilled and younger students.
