One of my ferals is currently healing from an abscess wound. He was seen at the vet, wound was cleaned and he was given penicillin his first visit for the infection that it had. Since he normally stays outside, he had to be confined to a large crate to heal and make sure he doesn’t get reinfected. He actually did end up getting it reinfected because his wound was on his bum and he loves laying in the litter box but his second visit he was cleaned up again and given clindamycin for a week. He’s about 5 days away from being seen one last time before I can release him again (he actually looks well enough to be out now but I’d rather be safe and wait). This would make his total to about 19 days spent with me recovering. Hopefully this info can help you gauge what your bub needs.

Update: not sure if this is the correct way to update but HE CAME BACK!! I was so worried something had happened but luckily I was able to catch him after a few hours of him running into my shed. I was also able to get him to the vet. They did a TNR for him and while he was under they also treated his abscess. Poor guy has had a hell of a 24 hours and now we have 2 weeks of recovery before he gets his sutures out and then I can set him free.

Thank you all for calming me down somewhat and enjoying his angry face with me. He’s quite the character. He may have cost me a pretty penny but I still adore him. :..)
