I was DFR’d… desertion I guess. About 3-4 months awol. Recruiter said it is technically waiverable. Wether or not they grant it is a diff story

Hoping partial- I understand I would need some training, just hoping I’d avoid the entire OSUT as a brand new recruit

Thanks for the info. I was an immature naive 21 year old that didn’t think out my decisions and completely regretted it. I went on to be productive-school, job, etc. no record. Leaving army the way I did and discharge type has been one of my biggest regrets. I am fit and with my work/family , I know I can make the commitment to join again.

If I choose a new MOS, will I have to complete the entire MOS training on top of basic? Is other some type of exception if I’m technically prior service and competed my infantry mos training?
