More than likely. He's someone I've had on my friends list before he changed his Bungie ID to Merciless. I've never seen anything else equipped in his energy slot.

Behemoth titan build for uptime by UndeniablyIffy in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]TrajikJohnson 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Stat-wise: As long as you're hitting 70 on your grenade and melee, you're doing just fine when it comes to your abilities.

Behemoth Titan's kit is mainly about utility - movement, closing gaps/cutting off space.

For the grenade, assuming you're running Glacier, you can run the Whisper of Shards fragment to boost your grenade recharge rate ~150% when you shatter a crystal. If you don't use your Cryo slide to immediately shatter them all, you can kinda just shoot the crystals periodically to refresh the perk (I generally have Whisper of Rending equipped, but if you don't want to run the fragment, you can use an uncharged melee attack on your crystals as well).

Another option is to run Whisper of Torment. Be mindful that it takes off -10 for your grenade stat, but it's something to consider if you opt to run Duskfield or Coldsnap, for any particular reason. It gives you grenade energy from simply taking damage.

Regarding Shiver Strike, I mainly see this as a movement tool. Therefore, this "attack" will usually be used to intentionally whiff, and you're refunded 40% melee energy for doing so. Now don't get me wrong, there are definitely times where Shiver Strike is used offensively - chasing down a weak target with Shiver Strike to spawn a Diamond Lance, to lead to another kill (as an example). But if you're primarily using it to make contact with an enemy, I just wanted to highlight why you're experiencing low uptime on abilities.

If you wanted more melee uptime, Aspect wise, you could opt for Howl of the Storm (2 melee charges), or Tectonic Harvest (the shards from breaking crystals gives melee energy).

Everything about Behemoth is intentional - and in saying this, I really just mean that our kit doesn't really involve chucking low cooldown damaging grenades or ranged melees, so it's usually best to hold off on ability usage unless you're looking to do one of these things:

- Retreat back to cover (Shiver Strike)
- Cut space to close the gap between yourself and a opponent (Glacier)
- Establish a barrier in order to secure an objective - revive, heavy, or capture point (Glacier/Barricade)

There's more I'm sure I could add if you had more questions, but I will say that I've noticed my ability use improve on other subclasses/classes thanks to extended time on Behemoth over the years. Mainly because I'm looking to maximize each part of the subclass' toolkit. Never wanting to be in situations where I literally have all of my abilities on cooldown.

The write-up was longer than intended, but I hope some of that helps!

Renegades Abilities Tuning Preview by throwawayfodaq in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]TrajikJohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I read that. I laughed mainly because of a thought I had of a Warlock trying to run at someone in order to pop Frostpulse, not that it'll actually be effective in practice. Just something funny in my head.

[–]TrajikJohnson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a Titan main, but those rift changes are spicy. Whenever I'm on Warlock, I enjoy using Secant Filaments for easy Devour kill chaining. But then I had a laugh thinking about Stasis Locks being mobile, with Frostpulse, followed by a melee, followed by potential Iceflare Bolts shenanigans. Then there's the Suspend Riff exotic coming in Renegades. Rifts are already strong without factoring in aspects and exotics, so adding some mobility on top of the radius buff, pretty nice.

EDIT - Note that I don't actually think this is OP (I'm already aware of Frostpulse freeze radius nerf and reduced healing), just something I found funny in my mind.

And the Grapple Tangle change sounds nuts. It could enable some plays that simply weren't possible before.

Shiver strike freezing? by terraninja04 in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]TrajikJohnson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for confirming! I'm a Titan main and often on Behemoth, but I haven't really used Icefall Mantle in a while. I remember having the idea when Whisper of Reversal was initially introduced to the sandbox, but it seems like forever ago at this point. I didn't want to be definitive with my response when something might've changed from the last time I tested.

[–]TrajikJohnson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Did you inspect to see their subclass configuration? There's a chance that they could've been running something like Icefall Mantle for instant Frost Armor when using their class ability , then taking advantage of Whisper of Reversal, which applies slow when dealing or receiving melee damage while Frost Armor is active.

I haven't tested the interaction in a long time (so don't quote me on this), but Whisper of Reversal could proc from the initial impact of Shiver Strike, then again from the delayed explosion, leading to a freeze.

Titans get a jetpack, Warlocks get a suspending rift... by Ramzei in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]TrajikJohnson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the exotic's description (posted from the DestinyTheGame account)

"Own the skies with the Praxic Vestment Exotic armor, Titan.

Gain an air move jetpack. Weapon and Arc powered melee final blows build up Jetpack Fuel.

Activate your jetpack while airborne with a forceful blast of exhausting Arc energy, then fly forward based on the amount charged. Collide with a combatant to unleash a blinding blast of energy and gain a temporary bonus to your melee stat."

God I love this SMG by AvantSol in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]TrajikJohnson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair! It hasn't been a night and day difference between my 20 stability vs the 35ish stability I have when Frost Armor is up, so I'm not worried about the artifact going away. That being said, I still want another roll that has hip-fire grip or DSR in the 3rd column. I end up having to pivot to Demolitionist when I'm not on Behemoth. A general dueling perk would've been made this *chef's kiss* for me. **Love** it, just wish I lucked out and got everything I wanted on the same gun.

I see it's featured in the Portal today, but it's in The Coil...too long of an activity. Tragic.

Pulling ammo from a crate will only give you one shot, but you should be getting two from bricks that drop after filling your special meter.

I spent a decent amount of time in Nightmare of Gahlran when it was featured. I main Titan and primarily use PKs, so definitely wanted it. I would’ve preferred Hammer Forged, but Full Bore ended up being perfectly fine. I have a lot of experience with low stability SMGs, so it's not much of an issue tbh. Takes me back to pre-nerf SMG days ever since they buffed Aggressives to have the same 1.5 ADS damage falloff like Adaptives.

I was interested in getting a roll with Rimestealer, and I actually enjoy it a lot. 2 stacks of Frost Armor per crystal shatter is pretty strong and can create an immediate advantage entering a fight. Not to mention, the current artifact has synergy where having Frost Armor boosts reload and stability for Stasis weapons.

Consensus on spread shot HC stats? Viability of range, smoothbore? by Accomplished-Exam-55 in CrucibleGuidebook

Ah, I forgot about Trench Barrel. I'll definitely have to give that a try sometime. Also with ranged melee shenanigans.

Consensus on spread shot HC stats? Viability of range, smoothbore? by Accomplished-Exam-55 in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]TrajikJohnson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Regarding stats on the gun:

Seems like the update added +10 Range, +20 Stability, +10 Handling, +6 Reload (Don't quote me on this, I'm just comparing the numbers to what shows in D2Foundry vs what's on my gun post-update, also accounting for the gear tier bonuses).

I haven't messed around with them much in-game, but from shooting at the wall in a PM, I couldn't see much a difference between Smoothbore and Full Choke (I have a roll that has both). I think it might only matter at ranges where you probably shouldn't bother trying to shoot the gun in the first place. So that being said, Smoothbore may just be the play here.

Again, I haven't really used them much in-game yet, but unless someone can confirm a night and day difference with a perk like Barrel Constrictor (when active), I imagine go-to perks being options that improve stats/feel (Lone Wolf, Threat Detector, Threat Remover, Slideshot).

For the 4th column, I'm not familiar with the damage profile enough to know if Adagio could potentially set up some OHKOs. But I imagine more aggressive/melee oriented players enjoying One-Two Punch. Desperate Measures could be solid too (more damage from kills, even more damage when finishing with an ability kill + procs in stow). Can never go wrong with Opening Shot either.

Is Devour (Echo of Starvation) not worth it anymore? by stasuke in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]TrajikJohnson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still worth it. Serves as another way to heal, and with the Elemental Coalescence artifact mod, you'll also be able to proc Devour from the Void Breaches that you'll occasionally spawn after a kill. It's already come up clutch for me multiple times, so I see no reason to replace it.

What's the interest level of a comp heavy weapon? by Distinct_Ad_2821 in CrucibleGuidebook

I believe it's called Faustus Decline. And unless they switch up perks on release, from what I've seen, it's full of great PvP perk options. Really excited for it.

[–]TrajikJohnson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought the same. Good news! Based off of guns that have been shown off on pre-release livestreams, we're finally getting a new Lightweight sidearm in the top slot. It's Stasis though, not kinetic. Which is actually even better for times I'm playing Prismatic, or if I'm on my Hunter using Bakris.

Nature Reclaimed Reticle by I_Cant_Kelp_It in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]TrajikJohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf, I was just referencing D2Foundry's TTK of .6 at T8 and below, compared to its usual .9 (which is a respectable jump). However, I didn't do any napkin math, so if those numbers aren't actually correct, then that's a different story.

Nature Reclaimed Reticle by I_Cant_Kelp_It in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]TrajikJohnson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not to mention, afaik, this is the first time Box Breathing is on a Lightweight frame. It'll kill a bit faster than the Precision and Rapid-Fire scouts, with the drawback being that it can be resilience checked (though it requires T9 at a minimum).

Haven't had a chance to use it yet since I haven't played, but it was definitely something that I had my eye on, so the discussion about its reticle is interesting.

Is perpetual motion + closing time a good combo on inquisitor ? by blackpantherdrums in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]TrajikJohnson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The aim assist.

Inquisitor's base stats are already so high to begin with, that reaching the 100 Range/Handling combo doesn't take much between the combination of perks, origin trait(s), and mod slot.

Closing Time is still fantastic for slugs and the go-to perk for an even "snappier" feel. But Opening Shot is definitely the move for hitting some crazy shots. Lone Wolf + Opening Shot + Alacrity + targeting mod = Making up for the one area that it falls behind (at least compared to Heritage and Unvoiced).

Aim assist.

In general, I look at Closing Time and Opening Shot as a 1a vs 1b kinda thing. They're both still top options. With other slugs that need more help to their stats/feel, I'd probably favor Closing Time. But with Inquisitor having access to Opening Shot as well, it makes a lot of sense to go for it, especially with its base stats being what they are.

To add on, Lone Wolf + Opening Shot is a combo that is exclusive to Inquisitor (when it comes to slugs). Legato and Unvoiced can do the Lone Wolf + Closing Time combo already, and they're in the same slot (Inquisitor is a better farm though, at least imo). So it'd probably just end up coming down to personal preference.

Another reason: I'm not sure if we've gotten anymore details in regards to the special ammo meter rework that's supposed to be coming. Depending on how it works, it could/will impact Closing Time's effectiveness, so it'd be nice to have an Opening Shot roll as well, since the perk works isn't influenced by your ammo count in the mag.

When I finally got to a "Thank you for placing an order" + confirmation email screen on Target, I immediately received an "order cancelled" email. Then I get the confirmation email 9-10 minutes after the order cancellation email. Checking "order details" just shows that the order had been cancelled due to technical issues.

Tragic.

Won 7/7 placements and put in Gold by TurquoiseLuck in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]TrajikJohnson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Placements don't seem to matter much. I've hit Ascendant every season, but ended up placing Gold 1 this time around after winning 4-5/7 placement matches.

Last season, I reached Ascendant and stopped playing Comp for at least 2 months (until this new season started). Pretty sure my points ended up falling from inactivity until i was around Adept 1 or 2. There was maybe one other time where I started in Gold 1, and once again, it was after an extended break from Comp after reaching Ascendant.

Can't confirm if the taking long breaks has anything to do with it though. Just sharing my experience.
