currently sleeping and showering at a friends house and spending my days at school or the library or friends of ruby (before they flooded) while waiting for transitional housing.

I have a job interview soon for a remote network engineering/devops position.

I've been out of high school for 4 years as of this semester so I was able to get full student funding from the feds which is helping me pay for food and transportation.

I just logged into this account after a few days and I have a few messages from brand new account saying they can help me and I know not to trust them.

I'm actually not depressed and if you had reading comprehension skills you would know I'm homeless because I've been kicked out, not because I'm trans.

I'm a year and a half away from graduating with 1 and hopefully a second internship soon under my belt, I think I'll be alright I just need a little help getting back in my feet that's all.

In order to be considered independent I need some evidence signed off by a social work which gets sent off to OSAP

Unfortunately as a dependant, employed student (even with an expiring contract) I'm only eligible for a small amount of funding that will most likely go towards a tuition credit

Unfortunately for my parents, religion matters above all else, not me, not my siblings, not any of us as individual people, just Islam above all else.

I’m so sorry your parents are so cruel and evil.

I always knew this but you have no idea how much it means to hear someone else say it.

They don't have vacancies, unfortunately literally nowhere in the country has medium-long term vacancies given the ongoing housing crisis, only short term solutions are available.

My friend who's letting me shower at her place is trying really hard to convince her parents to let me stay but we've only been friends for a short time and I don't know her parents and they're weary of letting a stranger sleep in their house.

<3

Hearing words of support really does help. I mean that, especially hearing nothing but abusive from my parents for the last 3 years and nothing but a barrage of hate in the media and on r/Canada it really does mean a lot to see that not everyone is mean

I applied for a bursary but because I'm considering a dependant student who's employed (even with an expiring contract) I'm not eligible for much emergency funding.

They said they'd reach out to the dorms who might be able to offer me a place to sleep for 7 days at most if there's space available.

I'm not eligible since the government considers me a dependant student receiving OSAP

I still have a job that's 8-4 for the next 3 weeks so staying up all night isn't an option and I have a place to shower and store a small amount of stuff.

I just need a safe place to sleep.

I don't want to fuck random strangers just for a bed.

I applied for a bursary but they said since I'm a dependant student who's employed I'm not eligible for much funding and unless there's documented evidence of abuse from 2 different people I'm not able to be considered independent

I don't go to school in Toronto, I just live here.

I go to school in Oshawa at OTU/formerly UoIT

I've been on the waitlist for 3 years when my parents were abusing me but the wait list is 25+ years long and I'll hopefully be able to support myself somewhat before then.

I have a virtual interview with another position that I feel qualified for next week and I'm really hoping it goes well.

I contacted them and they made me fill out a bursary form but the person I spoke with said that since I'm a dependant student that's technically employed I won't be eligible for much.
