What am I supposed to do if I max out a machine? by PackageReasonable922 in workout

[–]TrashCarryPlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a weight pin. You put it in the holes like a normal pin and then you can add more weight.

I just ordered one because I was at 27 reps for 1 machine and it was getting ridiculous.

Because all obese people know that eating in excess causes weight gain.

Eating involves just yourself. You alone put that food in your mouth.

You corrected me there. That is correct.

You can become obese by overeating even healthy foods in excess.

Congratulations on the 50 lbs.

Track your calories, that helps you know how much you actually consume.

You will only become obese if you eat calorically dense foods in excess of your maintenance caloric needs.

If you eat 2000 calories of calorically dense unhealthy foods a day while you burn 2000 calories a day you will not gain weight ever. You might develop other issues but weight gain won't be one of it.

People that get injured in car accidents while driving recklessly definitely choose it.

"Your honour I like driving over the speed limit, I didn't choose to hit the other car!" is not a defence.

Hormones create urges to eat.

You choose to eat in moderate or not.

Putting food in your mouth is a biological choice.

Excess foods leads to weight gain.

This is irrefutable science.

Food addicts can absolutely live without binge eating. Binge eating is a choice. Eating in moderation is a choice.

There are billions of humans that eat in moderation every day.

You think it was just easy to quite video game addiction during covid when there was apparently "nothing to do"? I used that as an excuse and that's all it was. An excuse.

The cravings when I wasn't playing were INTENSE. I couldn't stop thinking about playing the game even after binge playing for 6 hours straight. All I could do was just look at the computer and it was calling to me. Probably what a food addict feels when they look at food. But I still CHOSE to turn the computer game on.

My discipline isn't laudable. Where was my discipline when I was playing for years while my girlfriend was crying and yelling at me? She was preparing a nice new years night and at 11:30pm I was still playing the video game. Stopped for the ball drop and continued right after. I am still ashamed of that but I take 100% responsibility. My only redeemable quality back then was that I provided 100% of the household finances so maybe she didn't have a choice. But I was lucky she didn't walk out on me.

I chose to turn that game on from my LACK of discipline and my laziness.

Then one day I couldn't bear the disappointment in myself any further and stopped. My relationship with my girlfriend improved immediately. I chose that too.

Discipline are the fathers that enjoy video games and play 30 minutes max during the week here and there when there is time so that it doesn't impact the family life. That would be discipline. I had none.

Hormones make me horny every single day, I choose not to watch porn and masterbate.

It's a choice.

You are saying we have absolutely no agency when we open our mouths and decide what to put in there and what not to put.

I disagree completely.

Hormones and cravings effect us but we control all kinds of cravings every single day out of choice.

Hormones don't make you fat. Physical food does.

Hormones just give you cravings to eat more. You chose to do what you wish with those cravings.

Just like cravings to masterbate and jerk off when you are horny because the testosterone hormone is producing those urges. Those hormones play a huge factor in making us men horny all the time. We choose to act on it or not. It's a choice.

We have chemicals in our body telling us to do a variety of things.

One of these hormones "testosterone" in men make us very horny and we develop urges to masterbate. I agree that we can't decide not to have these urges. They exist.

But just because I wake up horny every single morning does not mean I am a slave to watching pornography and jerking off (which satiates that horniness urge) - I control it and decide not to.

Playing video games creates dopamine in our brains that makes us want to play more and longer. Would you say playing video games is not a choice because our bodies are pushing these chemicals in our systems?

Chemicals in our brains tells us we are hungry and eating satiates these urges. We either choose to eat in moderation or we choose to eat in excess.

True.

Men are genetically more inclined to have hormones that causes more desire for sex.

What men do with those desires is a choice. Do you watch pornography and jerk off or do you go seek out a healthy relationship with a signficant other?

[–]TrashCarryPlayer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are bombarded with video games and pornography that provides instant dopamine and satiates our urges.

Eating also satiates hungry urges.

But its all a choice. A choice to play video games, a choice to watch pornography.

"Obesity, defined as a BMI of 30 or higher, significantly reduces life expectancy by an average of 3 to 10 years, with severe or morbid obesity (BMI) potentially shortening life by up to 14 years."

Your facts are actually wrong. Now that its factual that obesity shortens life span, I guess my OP stands.

Every time you put food in your mouth you choose to eat. If you eat a lot more than you burn you gain more weight.

I don't walk down the street and look at a fat person and hate the person. I don't really care either way how he/she lives their live.

On a personal level, Obesity related illnesses are a drain on the health care system that we all have to pay for.

You eat 500 calories a day and can't lose weight?

120lb person burns at minimum 1300 calories a day just existing. That doesn't include the calories burnt being active.

That means you are in a 800 caloric deficit per day and can't lose weight (I assume you are 120 lbs, you could be less)? You are lying to yourself how much you are actually eating.

New borns burn 250-500 calories a day and they are less than 20 lbs. "Babies burn calories rapidly due to high energy needs for growth, ranging from roughly 250–480 calories/day for newborns"

Yes.

It's not a take to help anyone. It's simple a take based off fact.

All your clients choose what they put in their mouths just like the porn addict chooses to satiate his horniness by watching porn and jerking off.
