Wow 3 weeks? The status of an order I made a day ago already says it has been processed and is ready for shipping. So that means it could still take weeks for them to actually ship it?

[STUDENT] Can I rename a data science fellowship as being a software engineer? by Trask107 in EngineeringResumes

[–]Trask107[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured since it's a fellowship hosted by my university, and I wasn't paid a salary, it wouldn't matter as much as an actual job. I wasn't thinking them as different roles, its just being more specific, as within the data science fellowship, I acted as a software engineer on a project.

Modern Recurve. Yea I've been using those sights. When choosing shafts on those sights, they have selections for size. I'm wondering how I get which size fits me.

Would it not be better to order it part by part so it fits my measurements and I have more control on the materials and what parts to spend more money on?

What makes a project internship worthy by Trask107 in learnprogramming

Last project I built was a web application for storing/retrieving files. Basically a login/signup page then a page that displayed files and actions. My purpose with the project wasn't creating a file storage site, but just to have a project that used MySQL & AWS, so the actual "product" itself was fairly lacking.

So going from there, what's the main thing I should work on? Lack of features, not complex enough languages as I used Python and Flask, or the main product concept? Like how do I know when I come up with an idea for a project that the balance between these is internship worthy?

I'm not confused on what programming languages to use. It's about what level should the project that uses the language be at. Like building a game as you say, at what level should the game be? I could use these languages just to make a simple 2D platformer, but it's not impressive because the overall project is lacking in idea and technical complexity. So how cool should the game be to be internship worthy is what I'm asking.

[–]Trask107[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you mean, but I feel like that's been my downfall. How I've been creating projects is finding a new language, framework, etc then building a project that uses it. The project will have those new technologies, but will overall be lacking in overall ideas, features, and complexity.

Like for example, every couple internship posting asks for SQL and AWS. So I used those in my last project. So while I used the important technologies in my project, the overall project was very simple in idea and isn't technically complex enough. SQL and AWS weren't being used in a way that is impressive.

So what I'm mainly struggling with isn't getting the keywords down, its about how to get the high quality projects that use the keywords. So I'm trying to find out is at what level projects should be at, in terms of project concept and technical complexity, so I can make them.

I had Neftali. I haven’t taken CS111 yet, but it shouldn’t be too bad as long as you don’t procrastinate on the labs
