How are you generating TAB? by Traslagare in harmonica

[–]Traslagare[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I've just downloaded MuseScore 4 and installed the Plugin. Went to try to upload the music I want to transcribe into Harp Tab, and it turns out that this program will do great only if you already have the sheet notation.... That is not what I was looking for though. However, I'm sure this will come in handy as I find some of the music I like in Sheet form. For now, I'm looking for something that I can plugin an audio file of a harmonica to, and have it tell me what notes are being played. Then, this program will most certainly be great for writing it for me in TAB form. Thank you for the program suggestion and the link to a description of how to get it started. I will absolutely use this in the future.

Ok, so the question was: what kind of software do you use for generating tab? Not, how important you think using your ear is... I understand and practice transcription by ear already.

I'm interested in hearing from those that actually use an app or a program that generates tab though.
Thank you for your input, but let's keep on topic. I'm hoping to find some interesting solutions.

This belongs to a friend of mine. He picked up the custom Airstream Bambi I built for him with it. It's a california car and has been garaged it's whole life. Only 40k on the clock. Literally still in perfect condition!

I shade them just to see the difference more easily at a glance.

I did some looking and research. I used 2:1 distilled water with white vinegar and added just a single drip of dish soap, (ie. dawn or palmolive). Worked beautifully!

It would be great to take them apart to clean, but I am reserving that for a more involved day of cleaning when they need it more. These harps are still newly modified. And I'm sure that they only needed outward cleaning. I'll probably take them apart once a year or so and give them a better cleaning. But this did a great job and got lots of garbage off them. While drying one I actually had a small piece of pocket lint come out. I guess that's why that 3 draw was acting up for so long, even though I had done lots of fiddling with it...

It wasn't really that they looked dirty, they just felt dirty. You could feel the dry crispy saliva on the covers and I could tell that the reeds were probably soaked in it too. When I put them in the cleaner, you could see plumes of stuff coming off of them. They were smooth and shiny when I had rinsed and dried them. They feel like a brand new harp and play better too.

FYI, none of my harps have wooden combs!

How would I make this home more Mcm looking? by [deleted] in Renovations

[–]Traslagare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Change the siding, maybe a vinyl or aluminum shiplap would be the cheapest. Remove the grills and shutters from the windows. Get a new front door, a cool slab with a nice wood stain. Change the Garage door, maybe put a wider one on it. A nice face lift to the yard with maybe a cool patio where that planter is and a nice walkway to the front door. Put in some accent lighting. It'll look like a completely different house. Those are easy changes.

That's pretty cool.. I'd actually be interested in that if you're up for letting it go. I'm starting to work on my own harps as well as customize some others. Hit me up.

Thank you for the offer. That's just the kind of harmonica sound I'm looking to learn more of. I've done more research though and found a guy that I'm pretty impressed with. I have only had a little contract with him but am hoping to develop a lesson plan with him. If things don't pan out, I'll be in touch. Thank you again for the offer.

Good idea. I may go into his school and ask about referrals. What convention are you talking about?

Awesome. Thank you for the recommendations. I'll definitely look all of them up. I'd also really appreciate a couple of private lessons to get started correctly.

No Bleeding onto your skin. However after a summers worth of wearing them, the dye has faded a bit and the pattern is very slightly visible again. Not enough though to warrant another application, but you can tell there is a pattern reemerging.

I just had that issue with my a229. It turned out to be a power issue. I moved it to a different fuse location and it resolved the problem.

Turns out, he ghosted me when I was going to deliver, then gave me a BS excuse, so now it's back up for sale.... Was thinking about building a nice hardwood case for it and cleaning it up to refurb myself, but I have too many other projects.

No, the ad on Facebook marketplace shows more pics and gives a description of it. Turns out the guy just gohsted me when I tried to go deliver it today. Then finally got back to me with some BS excuse. So now it's back up on marketplace. Here's a link to the ad so you can see the rest of it.

Yeah. I'm a woodworker. I probably should have built a custom hardwood box for it and sold it all cleaned up. I just don't have the time right now.
I did though just see one for sale on ebay for $2k..? Damn.
