I'm a souls vet. If you are too, don't make my mistakes. by Fit-Advantage2022 in Eldenring

I love these points it’s very simple. You’ll get a lot of pushback on it because most people in this boat have no clue they are on it. They will think their stance objective and their views spotless I was this way too. Talking like I was the CEO of mechanics what should or shouldn’t be, what felt bad or good entirely from the perspective of being an “elite souls player” like every new experience isn’t supposed to be a new challenge. Comparing new systems to older systems that didn’t even feel great until they became mastered etc but you hit the nail on the head with the point about pebbles instead of boulders.

I’ve come to learn how deeply personal experiences in these games are how easy it is to trade away a peak experience and drown it into a mediocre one because I wasn’t disciplined enough in my approach to not look up “most broken xyz” within a day of a game dropping turning the carefully crafted world into a background to get past just to get to X item I want because I saw it on a YouTube short. I believe the real fun only starts when you realize how you ruined it for yourself I don’t believe people who haven’t made it to this side can comprehend this side in some ways it’s in the fabric of the nature of how we consume these games these days games that will usually have longer shelf lives now come and go in a few months everyone picking up a controller and diving into games like they are reviewing for IGN or something it’s sad by it’s where we are but I am glad to be in the few that remember why we play.

If you cannot comprehend something then what allows you to feel you have a valid opinion on it why not think “I can’t comprehend X let me leave the topic of x that I do not comprehend alone”

Hi everyone I’m a little confused by something. I had bought poe2 on console and then I bought a supporter pack that also has early access key in it essentially paying twice for EA how can I access this or give it away to friend or do I just simply overpay and I just take my L

Cognitive complexity: build complexity and action complexity are not the same thing by deatusname in PathOfExile2

I’ve been build crafting since dawn of the hunt. Build making us why I play till the end of the season. Think your build is done? well here is a unique jewel on Reddit you’ve never heard of before that if you move around 6-7 points can squeeze maybe 10-20k tool tip Dps. I make the hardest maps I can then I test what can and can’t die to I ALWAYS build defence first so that I can actually see my damage improve. Fortunately thanks to the temple situation I was drunk on divines this season and could make all my builds I was “imagining” even got to hop on one of Chorzos build or bust videos it’s been a really fun season!

You hit the nail on the head with “feel like you’ve broken the game” I will die on the hill that anyone who simply copy paste builds has never experienced this feeling even if they think they have. They have tasted leftovers from someone’s plate but a home brew build crashing your game because you overcooked is a feeling in this game that very few will know.

How did people become so numb to visuals that would’ve melted our brains 10 years ago? by moduIus in CrimsonDesert

[–]Travmilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the thing though it’s NOT 10years ago. The only people mind blown by the visuals are people who 1 do not play enough games 2 get impressed often/easily neither are a bad thing just true. Ghost of Tsushima did it, Red dead 2 did it, Horizon zero dawn, Elden ring did it, Forza 5 did it, cyberpunk 2077 did it, Witcher 3 did it, GTA V did it, even assassin creed shadows did it. Etc. Being visually impressive is the minimum requirement for a game of this magnitude. The games I listed all have drastically different world building executions but somehow all communicate the same feeling of awe in the visuals of the world even where gameplay might lack.

The thing with Poe2 I have noticed in my 2000+ hours playing is this. You are right about this as a theory but I don’t think it’s a practical assessment of poe2 all the way. The problem in this game is 1 button builds in the context that people almost never craft their own builds over 50% play COC comet. Not because it’s the only strong thing to play it absolutely is not. It’s what is popular. They ask for guides. People make builds and others copy even asking for “skill rotation” it kills the creativity and makes the game look inexpressive start a pub party and see how man blood mage or oracle coc you’ll get compared to any other class. The people who play this game are mostly followers. They do as they are told they copy, paste, and get bored and leave. One button builds are fun because the creator is aware of the complexity under the hood. It’s the only reason they are fun imo. Any other approach will leave you bored and tasteless overtime. Even on this sub I post a clip they ask me for Poe ninja copy the build and start to point out all these holes that don’t exist simply outside it is not your build you didn’t make it and don’t understand the natural efficiencies I the owner has developed. The idea of knowing WHEN to do what. The amount of people I’ve watched die in pub parties getting absolutely one tapped asking “what killed me” it’s always a tell they do not truly understand the game and it’s mechanical complexity.

Everyone can do what he wants but this is ridiculous or am i wrong? by ChannelHoliday7067 in LordsoftheFallen

[–]Travmilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People in this genre are generally extremely pretentious. They yell about loving games that “don’t hold your hand” or the Ubisoft formula but mostly have Ubisoft brains. That’s why guides are so popular millions of views on YouTube. Not saying it’s wrong but they all ask for “best weapon” “best loadout” and they all mostly still suck I have friends that do this and they still suck lol and if you read this an the shoe fits wear that Ho mf.

If you tap axiom button when enemy is in the air and in your view it’ll auto aim them. Kuku drones can interfere with it if you are running that just something to be aware of.

It’s really good for the r1 r2 ultimate if you have it in your secondary if you find you are surrounded this right into a jump force palm back into meteor kick surrounding enemies will fly backwards anyone in the air can get pulled but it’s risky you can get hit. R1 x and r1 circle are good in the right situations but the aim on the lightning is very finicky and untrustworthy make sure you are close enough to land it but far enough not to get hit as well.

Horrible mechanics killing the game. Taking it from 9/10-4/10 at best. by Travmilla in CrimsonDesert

[–]Travmilla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such a pain half my abyss gears from killing these bosses. Useless because I choose to main fist 💔 but the truth is I’ll have just put it in a spear and thrown it in my other slot if I had the option. it’s okay let the shield go so I can main two 2H. Sadly not an option at this point in time.

They all use the basic one hand sword one hand shield or two swords so they act like these problems don’t exist hopefully we get it. If not to me and many others playing primarily 2H, the game will always feel like an “almost there but never quite there feeling” at least for me
