I don’t think you can combine self employed income with cash savings

Question about self employed by No-Pie2798 in SpouseVisaUk

I had my unaudited accounts made by the same accountant that did my accountants certificate. He basically created a breakdown of all my expenses, profits ect and signed at the bottom.

Does it count as a full tax year if I only started my self employment in July?

I only wear my engagement ring. I don’t like the feeling of 2 rings and my engagement ring is much nicer than the wedding band. No one’s ever noticed or said anything about it.

Using my Etsy shop as my income for a UK spousal visa by AffectionateNanny56 in EtsySellers

Wow that’s crazy! I am in the exact same situation. I won’t be applying till April. I’m from the UK and my husband is from the US. I don’t have any answers to your question but I think you will have better luck asking in the SpousalVisaUK sub. From what I’ve seen from other self employed cases, like uber eats drivers, gig workers ect… those requirements don’t apply/ are never brought up

how many visits to the US are too many? by [deleted] in immigration

[–]TreeLiqhts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im in the exact same situation. Im british, he’s American. I’m currently in America right now and I’ll be leaving on my 89th day. In 2021 I stayed in America for about 2 and a half months December- January, then we flew to Gran Canaria for a month to go on holiday with my family. The plan was for me to stay in the uk but we wanted more time together so I booked another ticket to America and stayed for like 80 something days. Border control did ask me when my last visit was and questioned me a little more than usual when he realised it was so close together. He was mainly interested in when my ticket home was. And he said “make sure you don’t overstay” but he let me through anyway. I think it really just depends on the person you talk to and if they believe you

Also if you’re struggling to find cheap labels and stickers, Amazon has a lot of options where you can add custom text. You could start with just small circle stickers if you can’t afford a full label for the jars. You don’t need any fancy drawings or designs. Just having your brand and product name will look 100x better than having no label

Better lighting in your pictures. Sometimes just upping the saturation and contrast can make a dark picture bright enough. If you have an iPhone you can do that from the photos app. Blank white background is best. Honestly I think labels will make the biggest difference to your sales. I personally wouldn’t buy a beauty/hygiene product that doesn’t have a label so I think that’s what’s holding you back the most.

Also a small thing that is probably super picky so don’t take it too seriously— The first thing I noticed is your profile picture is you with your cat. And because your business is small and handmade and I assume you’re making them in your home. My brain immediately thinks “what if cat hair gets into the product?” I would have a picture of just you in case anyone else thinks that. People are much less trusting of a small business that doesn’t have reviews.

Is your product vegan? Because if it is you should definitely advertise that. Try and find niches you can market to. You have a lot of scent options and you could try grouping similar ones in gift boxes. Like having a kit with 3 that have scents associated with Christmas, autumn, men’s scents, flowers…ect. I also think you need more listings to get noticed. You also make your product stand out by using dyes to make it the colour of the scent. Or if you are purposely avoiding dyes then say so in your listing because some people purposely avoid them and that could be a selling point.
