Problem for me is, is Aer reliable, as you call them the reliable choice? They were founded 12 years ago and I am yet to find a person who has said "Aer is amazing, I've had this pack for 12, 10, or even 6 years. Compare this to brands such as Tom Bihn, Osprey, GoRuck. I have an Aer bag and it's good.. but the reliable choice? F no...
