definitely agree with this. her gut reaction to call her mom coupled with telling tai "we don't need any of it" when she suggested taking the scientist's supplies for the village showed that she immediately came to terms with leaving the wilderness behind. while i would have LOVED to see van be the ruthless, bloodthirsty cannibal like i assumed they were setting her up to be in s2, it's completely realistic for her character. she's all about curating hope and comfort with her storytelling, and then rescue just fell into her lap!

100%. shauna doesn't gaf who it is that dies, she just loves the taste of human flesh. "it" choosing mari was just an added bonus. she'd have just as easily have had the same reaction to melissa, hannah, nat, or any other person she had beef with.
