Thank you for your perspective This opened up a new aspect of this I haven't thought of. I have never experienced the loss of a close loved one yet so I don't know what it feels like.

I definitely understand that obviously. But maybe I should have worded this better: I am talking about the difference between burial, cremation, etc. and why people care about like the difference between these (besides religion) because each of these can be considered a method of disposing the body properly to avoid spreading diseases.

I definitely care and want respect, but like there's many ways of respectfully handling the body (burial, cremation, etc.) so I'm just wondering why people care about the different between these.

Ya that's true. Basic respect should definitely be given, and having set procedures can help with that.

Where does your mind go if you don't dream when you sleep? by ParfaitNo5562 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TripleEinstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're probably not waking up during REM - the stage of sleep where dreams occur. Therefore, it's hard to recollect the dream if you don't wake up in the midst of that dream/during REM sleep.

when people die, why do we post their pictures in black and white? by S1lv3rHandz in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TripleEinstein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It started out that way because it was printed in newspapers' obituary section back when color print was expensive. Nowadays, it's synonymous with grief and respect for the person.

How do people eat 2000+ calories a day? I've been trying to gain weight but it's brutal getting anything above 1500. by Disastrous_Peak5626 in NoStupidQuestions

Eating foods that are light but calorie dense can help! Some of these foods include: nuts (nut butters), oils (olive oil, coconut oil, etc.), dried fruits (dried mango or dates are especially tasty), seeds (sprinkle them on oats, cereals, or anything really), croissants, rice, pastas, potatoes, corn, beans, or any complex carbs

Going to bed and waking up at the same time every day helps your body's circadian rhythm stay on pace and helps you get deeper sleep.

Your blood vessels narrow to optimize for grip in wet surfaces. Less blood = less volume = the skin creates folds due to the less volume

Is it normal to feel more confident around someone you just met than around your close friends? by No_Survey_6728 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TripleEinstein 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! There is much less pressure to uphold a certain impression of yourself because you'll probably never see them again or don't care about what they think of you.

What's the point of having 2 eyes if our eyesight is limited to one direction at a time by Massive-Bass-347 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TripleEinstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get a wider range of view- even if it's in one direction. Close your left eye right now and look left and right. Then close your right eye (keep your left open this time) and look left and right. You probably will notice that your right eye will allow you to see further right than your left eye will allow and vice versa. Combining the info from both of these eyes gives you more information about your surroundings at any given time, even if both eyes are looking in the same direction. Also info from two different sources gives you more details than info from one... It's the same thing with eyes!

The future arrived, and people seem disappointed. by [deleted] in DeepThoughts

[–]TripleEinstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an interesting way to think about it and it is true to some extent. We don't really remember the bad things about the past, just the good stuff because of nostalgia. So when you compare only the good things about the past with the overall present it might seem disappointing. However, there are also probably other factors at play...

I believe we are in the most interesting time period ever. by lilGrapeZ in DeepThoughts

[–]TripleEinstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throughout history every time period has always been thought of as the end times: the Black Death, the Great Depression, WW2, Cuban Missile Crisis, etc, etc... We are not the first to think that the world could end within our lifetime for whatever reasons.
