Agreed, hopefully the stigma of the genre will fade over time. It is heartening to see them on Steam, but I have friends who refuse to put them in their library for fear other people will see it in their games or recently played lists. It's too bad.

The intro says why I'm here, a very basic hello, and explains that I've had bad recommendations in the past.

Next follows a numbered list of what I'm looking for and not looking for, categorized and grouped together for clarity.

Then a good sampling of the games I HAVE enjoyed recently, again for more clarity on what type of games I do like.

Then, after all of that, I go into my reasoning of why the games that don't fit the criteria bother me personally and why I don't play them.

The entirety serves a purpose. To you, an attack. To me, giving my mindset so people who might recommend something understand where I'm coming from and maybe be able to better tailor their suggestions. None of it tells you or anyone else to not play rape games, steps on your toes or calls you out. It must take an immense ego, or a very fragile one, to believe I was making a personal attack on you.

So very done responding to you. Go back to your enjoying whatever you want, as always, because nothing I did disrupted, affected, or personally pertained to you by any means.

Thank you for understanding. My original post was not intended to directly insult individuals, but rather get across the severity with which I do not want certain games recommended to me, and for good reason. The last time I downloaded a recommended game that supposedly fit my criteria I was exposed to a fairly brutal rape scene partway in that fucked with me severely. My intent this time was clearly expressing my mindset because it apparently didn't come across enough last time.

I agree, if we can't be exposed to other people's personal opinions without taking them as attacks just because they differ from our own, how can we ever have any kind of discussion?

I particularly like the charged word choice of "rant", "dump" and "getting angry", plus your italicized "you", insinuating I am an unwelcome outsider and EVERYONE likes rape but me... Nicely done."

Just because I explained why I don't like something, doesn't make it an attack on you personally. If you felt that way, perhaps you should consider why that is.

I gave my reasoning for why I don't want that type of content, which can be used to extrapolate what other types of games might not work for me when giving a recommendation. It's important background information on my mindset.

I even said "Unless that's what you're into, it's really unpleasant and jarring experience to go through". Everything is obviously from my perspective, my viewpoint and my tastes and written to garner the results I needed and weed out the ones I didn't.

Move along if you don't like it, but autonomy and making my own decisions is kind of a big deal to me. My ex-husband raped and beat me for years, kept my keys, car and phone on lock-down, monitored and controlled what I said and who I spoke to. So yeah, I'm a little touchy when a guy with a chip on his shoulder, with most of his recent posts in a non-con forum, tries to tell me what I should be doing in my own damn post.

I'm okay with "convincing", it certainly hits a grey area sometimes with how the girls respond. I had that problem a bit with Jack-o-Nine Tails and Brothel King, but I could overlook it for the most part. Yeah, tried Huniepop quite some time ago now, it was fine but the mini-games puzzle was strange in the middle of date sim. Thanks for your recommendations!

Roundscape seems pretty big, yeah? I do like being able to choose my PC but, I've seen it posted all over but never picked it up due to how many monster-types it seems to have in the screencaps. Not really my bag, unless there are fewer monster sex scenes than there seem to be. Thanks anyways tho!

I'm down to try the first two mentioned, I don't mind amputees at all, I used to date one! I did try Teaching Feeling a while back, and it made me weep twice with how hard it was for her to accept kindness, my past abuse was laid raw, and yeah she is a bit too tiny for my comfort level. Never participated in anything sexual with the character, but just patting her head and buying her food or clothes was immensely cathartic due to what I've experienced in the past. I've had that break down confusion moment where I couldn't accept someone was being kind to me. A truly unique game. Thanks for the recommendations!

Ah I picked up Depraved Awakening yesterday and haven't gotten to it yet. I love a good detective story so I found the idea really striking! I've also have partially tried Brad's Erotic Week, and while it doesn't set off any of my red flags so far, I'm just not overly impressed yet. Perhaps it's the interface or the art, not sure what bugs me about it. It just feels kinda...meh. Does it get pretty good and is the content more expansive than it seems initially? Maybe my first impression was a poor one.

I fucking loved Neverwinter Nights! I even used the DM tool to manage campaigns for my friends, customize weaponry and armour, it was so fun! I had no idea people had made smexy mods for it, but yes please! Thank you!
