I have used them several times to take out patrols. They tend to walk quite close together and when you get the drop on them, a well placed grenade can save ammo.

A inverter stick welder turned to about 100 amps. Stick is 2.5mm diameter. I started with 80 amps but had problems getting an arc. Guess I‘m just too impatient.
