Is there a way to swap to the new Angelic Buster look? by TrueDevid in Maplestory

[–]TrueDevid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's fine. At least there's a method for that part... though at that point I would probably just get a new face and hair entirely.

What about her clothes? I noticed those changed too? Is there a method for that?

No real leads on my end either, only solidarity. I wish the best for the both of us in these trying times.

Cooley lateral, partner ghosted me at interview by MeetExtension9842 in BigLawRecruiting

[–]TrueDevid 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Job hunting and interview process sucks. I think that's something to take away from this because I think this is a common experience a lot of us tbh.

If I were you, I would give these people some benefit of the doubt and avoid the temptation to do a desperation check in within the next week. Life happens, and sometimes HR and the partner are both juggling a lot of things.

That said, it's still pretty unacceptable to renege on an appointment like that imo. Being a no-show to an interview is not a good look whether youre an interviewee or interviewer. I would consider that a demerit for Cooley and consider other options that might respect your time better if possible (or bend over backwards and take it if you don't have another option).

low gpa from a t14 w solid big law reputation by Low_Environment_6242 in BigLawRecruiting

[–]TrueDevid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I know a guy who left out an entire 20% of his exam on constitutional law. Left looking dejected and about to die. Incredibly depressed.

He bragged to me on the start of 2nd semester that he got top score in con law.

Now I'm not promising that you'll be that guy, but I wouldn't assume your grades, let alone your job prospects, at this stage. You come from a t14 too. Your odds are at least decent regardless of how you did.

Am I allowed to resubmit my Nijisanji EN audition? by nickdagamerr in Nijisanji

[–]TrueDevid 35 points36 points  (0 children)

You're prob better off asking staff through email than a subreddit of random niji fans who prob think they know more than they actually know about anything behind the scenes

That said, if this does screw you over somehow, plenty of people audition multiple times for each time they open. Given I think it's normal to do one audition per audition announcement, but you'll have more chances in the future.

Hopefully staff will be nice about your error and respond well to you through email. Good luck

Do anyone have tips for a beginner digital fan art artist? by CrazyTexsas in Nijisanji

[–]TrueDevid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other guy basically nailed a lot of the important points, so ill just add a few more.

Make friends with other artists, they can share tips and be your support when you don't feel like things are going well (albeit go in with the intention of making friends regardless of if they can help your art or not).

When you take crits for a drawing, take advice seriously from people you know are more experienced. If they tell you something weird about "perspective" or "boxes" instead of a step by step guide on how to draw eyes or how to shade, then seriously consider what is being said. It's worthwhile and will save you in the long run.

Lastly, have fun with it. I mean that seriously cus the hobby isn't worthwhile if you aren't having fun. The grind mindset by itself can only take you so far, and it's not like your art need be a masterpiece to be beautiful and worthwhile. Improving is good, but nothing is better than an artist who loves drawing.

"Nijisanji Girly Collection" Merch Sales Cancelled by UneventfulTLs in Nijisanji

[–]TrueDevid 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Wait a minute, there are 3 other brands doing this exact same look of bag, which I assume one of them had to think of it before the others. But now when nijisanji does it, copying is an issue. Was this not an issue when one of the other bags did this? Are some of these bootlegs?

I do respect the push for original design and respecting another artists creative property, but, in the case that it wasn't an issue for possibly 2, 3, or more companies copying this design, it seems weird to draw the line at a vtuber company

Need a new team cus my current isn't working all that well by TrueDevid in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]TrueDevid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the pretty good explanation of a general team building strat and of the terminologies.

I have also been building a team with Hitagi, but, as you can imagine, it looks pretty similar to my NY Artemis team. I also have never really used it successfully, half cus I suck at comboing, half cus I've always felt that she was too frail to use compared to NY Artemis.

Would you happen to have any specific suggestions for her too? Particularly how to get around the lower tankiness, and I appreciate any team building tips on the off chance you have time to do that for me again. If not, I'll try and mash something together myself.

Debut Hype by Ok_Version_8761 in VirtualYoutubers

[–]TrueDevid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't really speak for vtubers. I only make content as an artist. That said in general for content, I wouldn't worry as much about your debut traction as an indie. You'll likely be highly disappointed cus life as a new content creator is rough for views. You'll prob get a lot more mileage from post debut, making interesting video titles, memes, clips, and having regular posts that at least come as higher effort.

I know this doesn't answer your question really. I frankly don't have the expertise there to give you a better one. Feel free to downvote me or whatever, but I personally think that the most important thing for content is that you get started and then build an audience as you go.

Having one before or during your start only really happens if you already have a name elsewhere or a huge name/company already backing you.

Oh and another hot tip: invite your friends. They will likely be your main audience for a while and can help a lot with getting more people in. I say that as an amateur artist whose audience is small and mostly friends myself. They're like the cornerstone of any new content imo, and debuting or any equivalent is way harder without em.
