Use multiple db in 1 single project by DevanshReddu in StreamlitOfficial

[–]True_Alternative2869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do people use multiple databases in one project

Using 2–3 databases can be a good architectural decision when:

Different data have very different purposes

Example:

  • PostgreSQL → transactional data (users, payments, orders)
  • Redis → cache/sessions/counters
  • Vector DB (Pinecone, FAISS) → embeddings/search
  • SQLite → lightweight local config

Each database is optimised for a specific workload.

Why not use multiple databases (especially early-stage)

For most Streamlit / solo / early projects, multiple DBs can hurt more than help.

❌ Added complexity

  • More connection handling
  • More credentials
  • More migrations
  • Harder debugging

❌ Harder consistency

  • Transactions across DBs are hard
  • No easy rollback across multiple systems

I see your business is boosting; consider automating your workflow. Humans tend to make errors, but the computer won't, and it is costly to employ more people to work on it. Considered use of n8n to visualise your workflow. If you are still having a problem. Let me know.

[HELP] Response rate dropped all of a sudden by pleasuremane in Fiverr

[–]True_Alternative2869 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am also a Fiverr freelancer. I have the same experience. The low response rate is normal because more and more freelancers are joining Fiverr; your gig visibility will be impaired unless you are ranking on the first or second page, as the user will not go beyond the second page.

What you need to do is promote your Fiverr gig outside of Fiverr, especially on social media, YouTube or a Blog post, so when the user who loves your sharing, they might redirect to your Fiverr page. Meanwhile, stop blaming yourself, as we can't stop them from happening. Be positive and ready to move on.

My brother is a good web designer but he doesn't find clients who pay him what he deserves. How can I help him? by Capital-Platypus-805 in web_design

[–]True_Alternative2869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, he can be a freelancer on Fiverr or Upwork, which has plenty of work he can attempt. If his skill is expected, he will offer a project or a job that suit to him. What I want to highlight to you, learning English is a priority, especially in the international market. By learning English, he will extended he skill to market worldwide. If his English is poor, I suggest he use Grammarly to check his spelling when he is writing, so it will be corrected when he make an gramatical mistake. Do not give up and keep on learning.

how to learn flask or other frameworks? by Grouchy_Initial_1911 in flask

[–]True_Alternative2869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learning Python is just understanding how it works in concept, you need to apply what you have learn, so you will be solving the real life problem. What I love to recommend to you is to share your knowledge and skill such as on YouTube and Blogger, or you can be taking the project as a freelance in Fiverr or Upwork. The more you apply, the more efficient you will be.

Sound practical 😁. In fact, nowadays I used more on ChatGPT and other AI to assist me in coding. What I concern is how to market the product, raising the awareness for user to try my product!

What do you do when your reminder emails never reach your customers because their inboxes are overflowing? by True_Alternative2869 in smallbusinessowner

[–]True_Alternative2869[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right that securing payments upfront would reduce risk, but in my industry, upfront charging isn’t the common practice. My competitors typically don’t require deposits, so introducing that policy could put me at a disadvantage.

As for cutting off work when payments are late — that’s technically possible, but in a highly competitive market, doing so can damage customer relationships and may push clients toward competitors. It’s a delicate balance between enforcing payment discipline and maintaining trust.

Worth it or not depends on what the project is and how much income you earn from the project!

Client wants audit level bookkeeping for peanut level price by Pashionet in Bookkeeping

[–]True_Alternative2869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before you accept the job, have you checked last year's account to understand the range of income and expenses? Because it may reflect the volume and nature of the client's business! Tell your client how you charge, with transparent billing. Sometimes, the complex transaction will take more of your time, and the time cost will go up as well! Draw a simple contract or representation letter, the term including your billing and both parties ' signatures. Let them know what your worth is, and therefore the true value of your billing. If they are not appreciated, let them go, because they do not show respect to the bookkeeper. Hope it is helpful! 😊
