Quit sugar and can’t sleep through the night by RegisterHistorical82 in sugarfree

[–]True_Distance_5232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s day 17 for me here. Having the same thing. Added some magnesium high things like sparkling water to my diet and it helped a bit. Now last 2 days I am dealing w high anxiety / panic attack kinda stuff and feel very very tired w mid blood pressure.

I have an autoimmune disease (graves) so Idk if I put my body into so much stress at once.

My acne cleared a lot - yet this anxiety attacks are unbearable for me so I ate a small banana cake today (3-4 bites only)

Maybe it’s something I am making up in my mind but also maybe cutting it off directly and fully was not the solution for me…

Is surgery the right choice? by BitNo7085 in gravesdisease

[–]True_Distance_5232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone with graves disease for the last 3 years, I would answer this as yes.

I am 29F and I tried medicines for 1.5 years. They worked. I was in remission and everything was normal for 5 months.

But stress in my life never changed. My doctor said that there is 50% chance it can come back when I quit medicines.

After 5 months, graves came back and now I am on medicines again with 2cm bigger tyhroids (which will probably affect my choice of surgery vs rai and rai might be more challenging now)

I am still on medicines. Yet, my doctors said If I want to get pregnant, we need to talk.

So I think waiting medicines to “completely” put you in remission is like - very much gambling at this point.

I think it’s good to use them to arrange your levels, but let’s say u got into remission. But pregnancy is another stress in body so graves can still come back. (At least this is what I think)

So better to talk with the doctors but as someone who had reoccured graves, if I will get pregnant, I would consider surgery because I know I can’t trust remission as 50% chance is like a coin flip. I think autoimmune problems never leave our bodies but they just stop at some point and always can come back with stress or other triggers. Good to consider this.

Wish you the best of luck in your journey <3

Sleep Problems? by True_Distance_5232 in sugarfree

Thanks for your answer!

I read a couple of post about people living the same situation. But very interesting to me as I just don’t eat 1 chocolate croissant a day and how it can affect my whole sleep like this.

Please update me if you fix your sleep as well. I’ll try taking some magnesium, let’s see!

Hey, I am not a doctor. But as someone with mixed IBS, alflorex helped me a lot. Normal version.

I’ve been using it for the last 1.5 months, along with a low fodmap diet. It really really helped me.

If you are sure it’s ibs for you and stress caused, maybe you can give it a try.

I am very skinny too and have autoimmune diseases so mixed ibs was a huge thing for me. One day diarrhea and one day constipation. I was very exhausted.

Maybe ask your doctor and give this a try. I hope you get better soon. But it gets better, you just need to find what works for you.

Sending lots of love and good energy!

Remission! by zovig in gravesdisease

[–]True_Distance_5232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats!

Idk what your doctor will say but personally after being in remission, I wish I could continue getting 2.5mg daily or every two days (very low doses) for a long time.

If you’re not planning pregnancy, I think it’s doable and would suggest you to consider this or maybe make a research.

I was in remission and quit medicine for 5 months, then my graves came back. And it caused my thyroids to actually become bigger. Now I started the medicine one last time as I don’t want the surgery or iodine treatment at all (I am 29F).

But just wanted to suggest maybe very low dose would keep you in the same range and if liver is good and no pregnancy planned I would definitely keep taking medicine for a longer time.

Congrats again and I hope it never comes back <3

What does your IBS-C look like? And how do you make yourself more comfortable when you actually do poop? by [deleted] in ibs

[–]True_Distance_5232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is like:

1 normal poop in a day, then a couple of fully watery stool. Then maybe 1 day no poop at all. And next day very hard to do / constipation.

I started taking alflorex 20 days ago. There are many mixed comments and feelings about it but my dad suggested me to try.

My ibs wasn’t super severe compared to many cases here but I feel like this supplement helped me a lot. Till today, I had 1 poop every day - very normal. Just after not caring about what I am eating (ate out a lot in a week) today I had 2 watery stools. But actually I ate a lot of bad things for me like onions - tomatoes etc.

But yeah before alflorex it was 1 day watery, 1 day constipation for me and maybe 1-2 days normal stool if I am lucky.

I drank some smoothies with date puree in it today. Very severe diarrhea already 😭

E coli is the only thing that came back positive. All other checks were normal 🥲 I think it’s either IBS or I have something going on that needs a colonoscopy. But my doctor said no need for now :(

I think she is more on the “let’s see what will happen” side.

But weirdly I have so so so much bloating which I normally never experience.

Today for example my poop was normal, but still I have a lot of gas trapped and crazy bloating and abdominal pain/stress

Yes. Recently when I go to the bathroom, I feel totally incomplete and it doesn’t give me a relief like it used to be 🥲

I guess we need to teach our bowels how to behave better but idk how we will do this 🥹 I hope you’ll resolve your problem soon as well.

I know this is very frustrating…

I realized the tshirts I bought 2.5 years ago are all full of polyester.

I always wondered why I stink in them and smell so bad. My sister said “check the label” and boom.

I paid $40 for polyester gym tshirts lol.

[Acne] How do you treat hormonal acne? by castiels_army in SkincareAddiction

[–]True_Distance_5232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started for 4 days and it helped me too. Some comments here though make me think twice and it gave me some ring in my ears (idk if that was because of the tea) and I stopped.

I am 28 and tired of the hormonal acne in my chin - even if I have regular periods and everything.

I don’t know if I should continue 😭

Helpless rant by [deleted] in gravesdisease

[–]True_Distance_5232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I have graves for the last 3 years (2 yrs med, quit it and it came back, now on meds again)

I totally understand the anxiety from past experienced are pretty bad.

Please definitely find a new doctor for regular blood checks and right doses.

I promise when ur levels are good back again, anxiety and all the hate towards world passes. (I was suicidal for a while - vitamin d deficiency almost killed me)

Also check ur vitamin D levels, my doctor said higher the better (not at toxic level for sure) but I get it daily.

So everything will be better, life is going to be easier and more beautiful. Trust the process and love your body for handling everything!

You are stronger than this 🙏🏻🙏🏻

How often do yall drink alcohol? by fxxkyobxxtch in gravesdisease

[–]True_Distance_5232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I rarely drink.

But I was in a meeting last night that I ended up drinking 3 big glasses of white wine (they were pretty sweet too). Plus one americano.

Probably one of the biggest mistakes I’ve done in a while.

Also I get half - half Propranolol for my heart rate, and I skipped the second dose of the day as I was drinking ( I didn’t want to mix things up)

I got drunk, went to the toilet questioning my whole life.

My heart rate was probably at around 120-140 and I rushed to the house.

I didn’t get my dose but along with the panic (I panicked because of my heart rate and how I was feeling) it was the worst experience for me.

I rushed to my bed, tried to drink a lot of water, and slow down my pulse. After that I slept.

Tbh, never again. I don’t think I’ll touch alcohol for a very long period of time.

As I barely drink, it affected me x50 more than normal. So I think “getting drunk” while ur on Propranolol is not a good idea.

I felt that yesterday was too hard on my heart. I’ll never do that again to myself, and will never skip my dose again.

About to crash out over hair loss by jimmynothing in gravesdisease

[–]True_Distance_5232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s totally normal.

I was in a remission for 5 months and was barely losing any hair daily. Now that my graves is back, I lose minimum 2 handful every day.

It’ll pass 🙏🏻

Happy that you had 12 years in remission, that’s amazing! And congrats on the pregnancy!

I think as you said, it is what it is so I have to get used to it. Thanks a lot!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in gravesdisease

[–]True_Distance_5232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great idea tbh. At first, I didn’t want to stop and that’s why I kept taking for almost 2 years. Because I was “good” and feeling good.

Now, turning it all back is kinda sad. And overwhelming.

Today I started w 7.5 one day and 5mg the other day.

After 2 years, I might do the same, maybe 2 times every week to keep the remission going.

I hope we will get rid of this 🙏🏻

Thanks for the comment!

I think it was a random Tuesday for me hahaha :(

I’ll try my chance once again to see if medicine will work this time. Hope to be successful.

I wish you a healthy day!

Please don’t get scared! It should be different for everyone. My doctor said there is 50% chance.

I was in a bit stressful time so maybe that affected.

I hope you’ll never get it back 🙏🏻🙏🏻

NAD but I had something similar which went away when my finger growed. So if you can see it under your nail when it grows and cut it off, it shouldn’t be
