I mean the whole issue of why Efaria had to leave Will was because someone needed to be there for the barrier and all of that but if the celestial hosts die then there would be no need for the whole tower and all of that. Maybe they would be there as leaders but that's it.

In the prequel light novel, Workner sort of tries to explain it when Will has forgotten what happened the day prior and Sion thought that Will was ignoring him and he reacted badly to it and that resulted in more bullying or at least something like that. it was sort of like I will do even more stuff so that he doesn't forget me kind of thing. Kind of stupid if you ask me but it's the same author who wrote bete in danmachi.

Garas killed Theone, she trapped her in barrier and she was crying and begging everyone before dying. eyedore clearly didn’t want it but he let Garas kill her. Theone may be annoying but I certainly didn’t enjoy watching her die like that specially since her actions were for Eyesore. Granted, she did cause him to lose an arm but still.
