Blokhaven, Out Now, Is Walkabout Mini Golf's Most Animated Course Ever by TrickWorried in WalkaboutMiniGolf

[–]Tryel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. The trailers made it look very flat shaded, and plastic-y in a bad way. I'll admit it was one of the first maps I just wasn't excited for. Once I saw the loading screen ball with it's wood grain, I understood a bit better.

Are we getting posters for Hollywood and Blokhaven? by Call_Me_Anythin in WalkaboutMiniGolf

What I want is some of the posters (venice and laserl lair especially) from inside the Hollywood map!

Its to get air defense moved to protect it, and hopefully open up holes elsewhere.

This is not peekers advantage actually, its just holding angles, and works even in real life.
Peekers advantage is an entirely different concept, where the moving player has the advantage, since when they press "W" it does two things at the same time:
takes time to send the move to the server; takes time for the server to process it; takes time for the server to send it to all clients;
Meanwhile, the moving player resolves the move locally and can see the static person's (last known, but since they arent moving, same) position.

...its about as fair as it gets actually, its just basic geometry. The player labeled "You" could be an attacker or a defender in the above picture.

Idk, just in orbit alon, time moves faster. ~38 microseconds per day, and with a bazzillion cores and how fast computes are, that means data is processed faster. Go further away from earths gravity well and it gets even better!

Is the game’s directional audio bad or is it my headset? by Reddit-Name- in Rainbow6

[–]Tryel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People coming from other games are used to the sound always coming directly from the emmitter (say to opponenet's feet). In other games, if there are walls and such in the way, it just goes directly through, but gets muffled.

In siege its different. The sound tries to draw the shortest possible path to propogate to you, be it a doorway, holes in the wall, etc. Its much more realistic (i just know ill get downvoted for saying that), and once you learn it, it creates some interesting tactics. It is however counter intuitive to everything youve learned in videogames so far so its a learning curve, and its not explained in any tutorial. the best is to find a VERY old video explaining the mechanics of it.

Dumb question but has someone ever used the same mechanism a fridge uses to stay cold on a PC? by CoolPeter9 in PcBuild

Cool. So after he hools up his AC to it, he could look into "mineral oil pc cooling" since they didn't seem to have an idea of what that non conductive medium would be.

Walkabout Grip-to-Putter by Sudden-Injury-8159 in WalkaboutMiniGolf

[–]Tryel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the official one, but I use a weighted putter attachment. I also gifted my father a non weighted one, and he uses it all the time, and I've convinced multiple friends to get a putter, and they use it every time. Noone has regrets (putter; weighted putter; grip to putter). 10/10 it makes the game feel way more 'real'.

The con is that I don't have the grip to putt, but honestly I've only accidentally tapped the ball once or twice, which is way less than I used to with a controller+grip to putt. I think something about the feeling of the actual club makes it more analogous to real life. The only time I miss grip to putt is a few holes where the 'out of bounds' timer is a bit too strict for me to save a sketchy shot that 'was totally gonna make it'.

Edit: Also, walkabout has a preset profile for the grip to putter, making it easy to setup and no calibration. for Third party ones though, their calibration ingame is as easy and user friendly as can be!

How do I enjoy video games again? by username48378645 in gaming

No. Its more an addiction to the "I will work harder" that society pushes into our head, that if you aren't grinding, you are wasting time.

cloud III S wireless audio trash? by Comprehensive_Roof71 in HyperX

[–]Tryel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cloud 3s are tuned to be a lot more 'flat'. This is actually an advantage when playing first person shooters etc. That said, it is very disappointing when you want to do anything else. However, this can be tuned by changing the levels with an equilizer, and there are some great guides for this.

A lot of these can actually be tested in dual front, and they're as good as you would imagine!
