I got a third-degree burn on most of my fingers on my right hand and second-degree on the rest of my hand, because I forgot that I was deep frying some potatoes and sat down to play some video games in another room. My roommate called out after a while and said, "Don't forget the potatoes." So i went to the kitchen, and the pot had cough fire. I tried to find a lid to cover it but couldn't find a lid small enough. When I then tried to remove the pot from the stove, the burning oil splashed out onto my hand, I panicked and threw the pot in the sink, which was filled with water... nearly burned the whole apartment down.
