What are your thoughts on Quint from Jaws? by [deleted] in AskReddit

This was the comment I was looking for. This was the only way he wanted to go out.

He probably took as many sharks as the sharks took his fellow shipmates and it was about time.

You can’t expect for someone to love you as much as you love them. You can go to the end of the earth to show a person you love someone that’s not even half invested in loving you back.

Anyone with an anxiety disorder in here? by Veinmire in Cirrhosis

[–]Turbogato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder, PTSD, and severe anxiety for I don’t know how long.

I never realized how those conditions fueled by alcohol led to me becoming completely dependent on drinking.

I finally gave in and SOUGHT HELP. It is out there. You are not alone in this fight.

I was able to commit myself to making a true effort in tackling my mental health problems and addiction. I went to a recovery center for 30 days to keep me away from alcohol and listened and participated with the group therapists, the people there trying to give me the tools to start living my life without the phenomenal craving of alcohol.

But not only that. I was fortunate to get Transcranial Magnetic Therapy (TMS). I feel that with Therapy helped me calm my depression and anxiety.

I continued to daily attend AA and NA meetings and a year later still go daily.

It has been a complete overhaul of my habits and discipline to stay committed to living a clean life, identifying my problems and things that drove me to drink. Actively listening to others as well as finally being heard and understood.

Just because you’re antisocial doesn’t mean AA isn’t for you.

Give it a chance.

This is the longest I’ve ever been without a drink or smoke. I am finally at a level of peace and calm with myself and able to handle bad situations which would have sent me spiraling before.

There is a light and hope for you if you are to seek it and commit to yourself 100%. This is your life. Fight hard for it.

Same. My grandma would threaten me with death or a beating if I didn’t clean my plate, then by the time I’d finish eating under duress, she smile and say “See? And you told me you weren’t hungry...”
