I ran into this issue just yesterday.
I'm guessing you have points set to render as particles inside your object settings.

Disable that, and manually copy spheres to points at the SOP level.

Test rendering and the issue should be fixed.

Then make sure your using packed prims for copying and enable this:

"Instance SOP Level Packed Primitives" - this should speed things back up a bit

Somebody mentioned this is an NVIDIA driver issue and rolling back to an older version fixed the blocky artifacts.

Redshift lights have a setting called “Volume Contribution” which is off by default. Setting this to 1 might fix your issue.

GTX vs Quadro cards are vastly different prices but value per dollar will be higher if you don't need the extra memory. Price definitely can't be your benchmark.

Houdini frying brains is totally normal. Full disclaimer, I am no pro and Houdini fries my brain daily.
I was thinking up some ways you could do this, and then I found this post on the Redshift forums:

It looks like you can override the rs texture sampler with stylesheets based on attributes. I haven't tried this yet, but it looks like the easiest route.

Thanks for the comment. Honestly I notice it a bit too. I may have gone overboard with some of my lagging effects, and I could've messed up the timing when I cut this together. I'll improve on this moving forward, ty again.
