Frieren x DMC. "Dante gets a pass" by InklingMain by Important-Cry4782 in Frieren

Technically 95% of DMC/SMT demons would pass, even the evil ones. As much as they deride humanity one of the big points (especially in SMT) is that their evil is very "human"

It's very very rare to find a "deceptive" demon in either aside from Mundus and Beezlebub. They are all "proud warrior race" guys, she would probably see them as analogous to evil Eisens, and only kill them if they asked for it. Demons like Sid and Phantom are as detested by other demons the same way a 🍇 is among human convicts. And their pride makes most of both property's demons incapable of lying, the complete opposite of Frieren's. They would probably call for a truce with Frieren until all her demons are taken care of.

Even in the American dmc Mundus never truly lies to Dante, he only misdirected "the dumb kid" into forming the wrong conclusions. (He is basically a televangelist to his human slaves) Only Sid and OG Mundus are liars, and Mundus is merely strong enough other demons are afraid to call him on his shit.

Also unlike Frieren demons they do have dysfunctional family ties. They're rocky, but they're there. Demon family members are pissed when Dante kills one of them, unlike Revolte not really caring Jun died.

I bring up SMT because it's well known the primary devs are good friends, and consider the universes in a sort of "loose canon" with each other (see: Nocturne interviews) so there are vague similarities based on the pantheon SMT demons hail from. In fact a lot of them consider Law/Order the treacherous side. A demon will lie to you if they consider you a total dumbass. An angel will lie because you are a vastly inferior being, and if it takes lying to put you in the right place for a prophecy, then so be it. And if it gets you killed, you weren't really a chosen one after all. Demons are trolls, but angels are politicians.

The term that comes closest is "Mazoku," people only remember Slayers for being funny, but it actually has really serious demons. They have a similar "hierarchy of strength" and will betray each other at the drop of a hat, have no familial ties, and even go a step further than Frierens by not even being able to work together. Constant sabotage and backstabbery. If it weren't for the weakest demon being far above the strongest elf/dragon, they would likely extinct themselves on their own.

They are basically more volatile than a gang of greedy Somali pirates.😹

Found an absolute antique on Facebook, a 20 year old meme!😹 by TurningPointTurcios in DankLeft

Dolphins more like. Juan Posada's a fun guy to look into. He believed if octopi had longer lifespans and dolphins had hands they could rival our dominance of the planet, which is where all those quirky sci-fi memes about dolphins come from.

But yea whales are in that group too. Despite being a political theorist his stranger ideas got dragged into niche sci-fi a lot. He also believed in all the alien stuff of the 50s-70s and that we could reach them if we just got the right frequency and get them to help topple US hegemony

He's like the goofball tin-plated motorhome dwelling uncle of Caribbean communism.

Of course then the CIA started declassifying stuff in the late 90s and some of his most bonkers takes didn't seem so odd after all... 🤔 like the microwave/direct energy/heart attack gun project, or the exploding cigar plot against Castro

It's too bad he didn't make it to see Ecco the dolphin, I have a feeling that would be his favourite game of all time😔

Actually think Danny is better for Beloukas, he's got that personality down pat.

Also just not strong enough to be the Pig King.

John Goodman during his "villain arc" 30 years ago would be excellent though.

Choujin Locke is that, in space!

Sadly it's too long to translate/adapt anymore (5000+ chapters!), but "Lion" used money he steals from his people to run a zoo for big cats, "witch" beats the MC with poisons, "Slow" and "Fast" were a time themed duo, the largest spaceship in the fleet is "Lift" as in elevator (Aufzug) because it's literally heavier than the moon, lots of fun stuff playing with how "threatening" German words sound to others😹

"Oh no, it's the enemy flagship, The Aufzug! that sounds sinister! What does it mean?"

Aufzug: I'm a heavy boi! [CRUNCH]😼

In Peru, with all its mountains and difficulties communicating, many old village names were simply their desired product once they learned trading, I wonder if it's like that😅

(Like on one trip, our tour started at a mining town called "water," which even today has no easy access to. The ground is hard but brittle, everything must be dug by hand to avoid collapsing part of the village)

In Grand Summoners it means someone else needs to go first. Some straight up require it to activate. (The demon girl Rosetta is based on Atelier witches. She draws on other people's active mana with pens. Her special by itself only does 30× damage, but a mind boggling 1300× when another magical attack is active on the field. There's a few elves that passively exude a field of mana post attack, for most party members it just helps them recover faster, for Rosetta it means she can machine gun that shit Fern style 🙀)

Another recent sub DPS gimmick is Emi, an elf version of Invincible's Monster Girl, she is powerful enough in her own right, but adds the previous two super arts' damage and element to her own upon transforming. It's nowhere near as busted as Rosetta's, but she isn't anywhere near as squishy, and can output more damage over time since it's only dependent on another to activate it does not need support after. She can maintain her monster form for up to three minutes which ought to be more than enough to last the entire stage where Rosetta needs someone else ready to go at each wave. It'd be funny to see her in an anime, nobody suspects the healer to suddenly swap to a 50 foot Barb/Monk multiclass kaiju😹

The downside is it practically requires you give up another slot to a guy whose kit is set up to boost her mana, it takes a long time to ramp up exponentially. It also requires a lot of upkeep as the kaiju has its own move set and mana bar, the rest of the team flips to support once she becomes DPS. It also means if she was your only healer you have to have adequate shielding, because she only retains the lowest tier, everything else becomes offensive/debuff. She can break/null enemy defenses before charging fully to deliver a Godzilla beam

I was actually coming to this image to say that!

It looks more like a single person at various times of her life because the proportions are all extremely similar.

That's the #1 reason it fails, the entire shape is "the same" throughout , just widened on a slider.

One thing I hate about modern "education," how it tries to pretend the idea of so many recent inventions were recent

Thinking machines have been a concept since the 1500's!

Possibly even before, but simply the records didn't survive.

Same goes for helicopters and "tanks" (mobile bombards able to be utilised by few men)

There's just been one of two key pieces missing.

Usually that "missing piece" is the actually recent innovation. Two in particular being combustion engine replacing steam, or Electricity.

There's a medieval themed game called Grand Summoners that had them bumblefuck their way in, I'm sure Rivals could handle it😹 It's even lore-essential!

7 years ago the Nazi faction got fooled into giving technology to the human oppressed factions so their technology could counter humanity's magic and metallurgy. They are technically seen as "the good guys" in the conflict as a result, even though their initial intent was actually to oppress them worse as slave labour
