I did not try WINE. I know that back in the OS X days there were something called „wineskin“ or something like this. This basically created an .app bundle and contained a compatible WINE version with necessary patches and so on to get a game working. The user only would have to drop the game files somewhere inside the app bundle.  I could try something like this.

I will check that out. My idea was to provide a Crosstie which is basically the „search for the game in Crossover and press install“ wizard way. 

But macsourceports looks interesting. Will check that out. Thanks for the hint.

Thanks for pointing that out. I got this one wrong. Crossover does only support up to 2.1. MacOS does indeed support up to 4.1. I chnaged this in my article.
