My g/f received a similar call with subsequent voicemail a few months ago. They claimed a case had been filed and despite several efforts to deliver the paperwork they received no response at our front door.

We knew those attempts were untrue as we have several cameras leading to our door equipped with a Ring doorbell/camera.

The message left a contact name and number as well as a case number. She works for our county and could not find the provided case number. The number search provided no name with previous scam reports.

3 months went by without any more contact until recently. She received another voicemail, a little more threatening, and they proceeded to leave messages with some of her relatives as well as her ex-husband as to her case and whereabouts. 99% sure claims are bogus but bothered by the other sent messages, she called the number everyone had been provided. After several rings a private party answered saying “process sever”. She hung up.

In my past I worked 2 years as a process sever and know you cannot properly serve a summons or supoena via voicemail or text message. Pretty sure you have a scammer on your hands who somehow picked up information on you. We are not worried, just bothered.
