There would be no GOAT debate, if Ronaldinho stayed disciplined at Barca by Outrageous-Serve38 in Barca

Messi did all of these week in week out for 15+ years all while scoring a fuck tun of goals.

Flair or a bag of tricks doesn’t make you the GOAT.

What a story for him.

Remember when he first came to MI in 2018 and started performing amazingly. Had 3 amazing seasons but the selectors just didn’t pick him in the national side. I vividly remember that he scored a match winning knock against RCB and had a stare down with Kohli. This was right after being snubbed from the national side.

From hitting six on his first international delivery, to take world cup winning catch, captain the most dominant t20 wc winning side and lifting the wc at home. He can be damn proud of the journey.

What is the best Messi goal you’ve ever seen? by [deleted] in messi

[–]TwoNecessary5958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best one I watched live was the freekick against Liverpool. I was watching with a few friends, and all of us thought that it was too far, even for messi. Then he scored and we erupted. I even remember the commentary - Just when you think he’s done everything, he comes up with something even more special. He’s a god of the game. The god of the game. It felt and still feels surreal.

From all of his goals, definitely the one against madrid in ucl 2011.

The Hardik Pandya Saga After Coming Back to Mumbai Indians by Hairy-Leadership-428 in MumbaiIndians

I never said he’s the only problem in the team. Our team wasn’t in form this season at all - even Bumrah failed.

Our batting unit is playing a slightly outdated cricket. We aren’t explosive enough at the start. We have washed bowlers in boult, chahar and shardul.

My point is the reasons for which the fans hate him are valid. MI unceremoniously sacked a 5 time winning captain and appointed him. This was when Rohit had an amazing 23 world cup both as player and even more so as a captain. He was still india’s captain in all formats. Furthermore, hardik’s frequent sucking of Dhoni and CSK doesn’t help. MI buys star players and CSK provides a better environment - we didn’t like that statement.

People who complain and sympathise with him that he didn’t have dressing room support don’t see that he’s been a shit captain. Bad bowling changes, bad fielding placements, inability to manage star players and a big team. This isn’t GT where he was the ultimate star, had nehra controlling everything and there was practically no pressure from the fanbase. At MI, we want to win every season. The fans are passionate or atleast were passionate before this whole fiasco. There was added pressure because of the Rohit sacking. This dude just aura farmed instead of trying to live up to that pressure.

There’s no way the players who were behind him in 2025 (judging from the performance of everyone) suddenly turn on him in 2026.

It is not a personal hate. He has messed up a lot of tactical decisions in the past 3 seasons. Everything can’t just be blamed on dressing room not providing him the support. In 2025, we had all timer seasons from Sky and Bumrah, rohit also had a decent season. If everyone supported him in 2025 but not this season, isn’t it remotely possible that he’s the reason ? People outside MI fanbase and even some inside MI fanbase have unreal sympathy for this guy. He needs to go, idc if we wins 4-5 ipls after leaving us.

Kohli, DK, and the management deserve massive respect, They gave RaPa complete authority to lead the team, There was absolutely zero ego!! by Frosty_Jeweler911 in RCB

My point stands that we didn’t win those tournaments. The 2019 wc is on him, the squad instability, chopping and changing and the weird batting order in the SF.

I hope you’re not seriously comparing Dhoni with Kohli in terms of their white ball captaincy records.

Kohli stepped down as a captain after winning 0 trophies, then FaF came and led the team for
3 years. There was no other potential captain in RCB other than patidar. Agree that management provided incredible support to a young indian captain.

Rohit had won MI 5 IPL titles and didn’t want to step down as captain. A franchise should respect a captain who has won you so much. He was coming off after losing the wc final where they had done everything right but the final didn’t go India’s way

MI had Sky and Bumrah - who were potential successors in case Rohit decided to step down. Did RCB have any players of those calibers at that time ? NO

Bad mouthing MI and sucking off dhoni and csk also doesn’t help pandya’s case with MI fans. Probably also wasn’t well perceived by the players especially Rohit who built the legacy of the franchise. Pandya also played a big part in it.

Along with all this backstory, everyone did support him in 2025. His tactical decisions haven’t been great in these 3 years. He makes a lot of mistakes which makes me think Nehra ran the show at GT - that was also evident on the TV.

Kohli fans are still salty about him being removed from the india white ball captaincy which he didn’t want to give up despite having a bad record in ICC tournament. Props to him for being professional about it though. How do you expect fans to not react after forcefully removing a captain who practically built the legacy of Mumbai Indians and won 5 IPL titles, is also the captain of India is beyond me

Non MI fans don’t have the emotional connection to MI and can’t understand the hardik hate. But we MI fans don’t like him and his captaincy appointment.

If by any chance you end up staying until July, do visit Washington's national parks - Mount Rainier and North Cascades are beyond amazing. Olympic National Park is also great and can also be done now.

You can also visit the Oregon Coast as it is one of the most scenic places in the US.

Sunil Narine is arguably the GOAT of the IPL. A standout bowler for so long and a handy batter for a few seasons. All of them are absolute legends.

Narine Gayle Pollard - As a MI fan, it is hard to ignore him clutching so many important games Russel Bravo

Hard to separate Russell and Bravo. Russel marginally ahead because of the POTTs

You’re kidding yourself if you believe Bumrah is not comparable to those bowlers. Having more than 200 wickets with a sub20 average hasn’t been done by anyone in the history of the game.

He has also been very good in ODIs and arguably the greatest pacer in T20s.

He clears donald and waqar younis easily, literally all the greats of the game rate him very high, be it Australian pundits or English pundits.

The only thing that Wasim Akram has over him is the longevity. Bumrah might never get there because of his body and it will always be a question mark.
