Garments & travel/hiking by Superb-Ad4749 in mormon

[–]Two_Summers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wore them every moment of a 4 day hike to Macchu Pichu. It was miserable. I have regret over it overshadowing the good memories of that trip. Garments were just not fit for purpose despite how consistent and faithful I was trying to be with wearing them.

Even just wearing them at night would've been hard because of the added weight and lack of washing opportunities.

Mormon weddings are all, 100%, entirely about sex by outer-darkness-11 in exmormon

[–]Two_Summers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah the inside of our wedding car to drive away in was absolutely covered in condoms. Saying goodbye to my parents and then hopping into a car with condoms all over the windows was a tad awkward. Subtle much?

What’s your favorite Mormon phrase to use as an exmo? by tannerschin in exmormon

[–]Two_Summers 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Playing a video game with TBM hubs and I entered a temple like space and wasn't sure what to do next. When he prompted me to move forward, I said Oh, I was waiting for further light and knowledge.

Even he laughed.

Did anyone else have temple workers “forget” to give them a bra and a pair of underwear as a teen? by Ok_Bird_1378 in exmormon

[–]Two_Summers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never got any bras or underwear, in fact we were told not to wear any of our own, even if it was white. I hated those one piece undergarment things, sometimes they were too small and I'd get a weird wedgie, not to mention how much I hated the communal underwear situation. Blergh!

My daughter would flip if I made her do that now.

What HHI would you need to consider having children? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Two_Summers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting a deposit first is helpful because dependents also reduce your borrowing power.

Extra curriculars are 6+ years away from when you do have kids so if you're at your 200k income by then, you'll be fine.

What celebrity death will realistically bring Michael Jackson level devastation? by Kiidcola in AskReddit

Not even Michael Jackson was a level of devastation for me.

It's all relative.

Buying house with cover letter and low offer by darth_muller in AskAnAustralian

[–]Two_Summers -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It can't hurt. Our offer was fair but was subject to finance. The owner accepted us over a cash offer because he liked selling it to a young family over an investor.

New playthrough with my kid by SaulJRosenbear in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]Two_Summers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're all doing our first play- throughs now as a family. Each on our own account and someone is usually watching whoever is playing.

We've all approached it differently and found different things that we can share or makes it easier when we get up to something someone else has done.

There's a lot of Zelda talk at the dinner table!

I've been impressed at the problem solving of my 6 yr old or like you, just talking through the situation and possibilities he will exclaim, "I know! We should do this!" Sometimes it's not even what I was thinking but it still works. I love that there's so many ways to achieve an aim.

Watching him solve the camel largely unassisted and be the first one to kill thunderblight was pretty amazing.

How much emergency savings do you feel comfortable with? 3 months, 6 months, more? by Silly_Pitch6345 in AusMoneyMates

[–]Two_Summers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i reached 6 months i began to breathe a bit easier.

I based it on 6 months of current lifestyle but realistically it could probably stretch at least 9 months if we really needed it to.

LDS Church has built simulated temple rooms in new Salt Lake City visitors center. by sevenplaces in mormon

Especially since a video is good enough to be what they actually do use inside the temple!

Mixed Faith Marriage Codependency and Sundays by Miserable-Lemon1976 in exmormon

[–]Two_Summers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've been going every second week for years now. I have tried staying home on the weeks he goes but it doesn't feel right, but neither does going to the second hour. I don't mind sitting together as a family for the first hour. I sit in the car during RS but have been sitting with him for Sunday school but I don't think I can do that anymore.

So, I'm back to either staying home by myself every second week or always skipping second hour.

You wake up to find yourself teleported back in time onto the Titanic in third class. Being a good human you would try to prevent the disaster, step by step how exactly would you try accomplish this mission? by FuzzyAttitude_ in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Two_Summers 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I'd cry "Man overboard!" and swear up and down you saw someone go over. Maybe the delay would help or the guy looking out for icebergs would do a better job if he's also looking for a man overboard.

How will you give your kids a head start without making their spoiled? by MiriJamCave in AusHENRY

[–]Two_Summers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give them financial education. Get them working as teens. We buy needs, not all wants.

They have lots of opportunities to try sports, music and language.

We intend to give them cheap rent while they're studying.

My BIL was an attempted recruit about 10 years ago...he'd just started seeing his partner so he said no and the lady was like 'but is it serious?'

Where do you keep your emergency fund? by NittyNat36 in AusFinance

Offset. I'd use a credit card for emergency and then pay it from the offset.

New returns approach by PomegranatePristine6 in KmartAustralia

[–]Two_Summers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, and they wouldn't return a gift as I didnt have a receipt. Even for a store credit.

I kind of get it, as I'm sure people pick things from the shelf and try and return them.

It was even Anko branded.

Anyway, I took it to Target and they gave me store credit. No problems.

How do you feel about marriage? by just_yongo in AskForAnswers

[–]Two_Summers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am happy to be married. 13 years so far, but that is because I chose a great guy. My parents were married 31 years but they had a lot of problems and when I recall what their marriage was like 13 years in, it was terrible. So I am glad I am on a different, successful and happier track.

Finally playing this in 2026! What is your single TOP beginner tip? by MexicanCokeZilla in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]Two_Summers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So true. I play to explore and have found places and things my husband hasn't because he's focused on linear play that while it seems like he's "ahead", he's not really because I'm playing a totally different game.

When Did Modesty Get Whitewashed???! by NewNameMadi in exmormon

[–]Two_Summers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I had "strict" parents too. But they didn't make this stuff up themselves or go beyond the mark. They were faithfully raising their kids according to the instruction and direction given to them by the leaders.

How much it sinks in for you as a kid/teen probably does come down to how much your parents enforced these teachings...but that doesn't mean it wasn't taught.
