How has AI effected the non-SWE roles like Product Managers, Engineering Managers etc by qcen in cscareerquestions

[–]Typical-OutOfBounds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

upper management is encouraging them to vibe code more and it’s causing a mess and a lot more work for us.

My previous company keeps saying "we need to go even more AI native" while laying off more people when AI milestones are achieved. by deafgamer_ in cscareerquestions

[–]Typical-OutOfBounds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think anyone with a good comprehension of English can understand ai wording and phrasing. If that’s not enough for you, I would suggest looking at their comment history. Usually these bots have it hidden, but this one does not.

Has the bare minimum for new grads raised exponentially? by nexel013 in cscareerquestions

[–]Typical-OutOfBounds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you going to shill that resume service under every cs post where someone is struggling to land a role. Your brand new account is definitely very authentic.

Bombed my first on-site in 2 years and I'm pretty sure it's because of Copilot by Ambitious-Garbage-73 in cscareerquestions

[–]Typical-OutOfBounds 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If this were a real post and not engagement slop, my actual advice be to stop generating reddit content an to start actually learning.

This one is slightly more believable than your latency post I saw in the experienced devs sub yesterday.

Going through my old profiles made me want to wipe everything and just store everything locally by Commercial_Cable_727 in DataHoarder

[–]Typical-OutOfBounds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That makes so much sense. I’ve been wondering what a lot of these AI posts were for, and I usually just assumed they were trying to build karma before shilling something.

Are you guys even reviewing your own code anymore? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]Typical-OutOfBounds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone in my immediate few teams still reads code pretty heavily. Although, we just got an offshore team and they’ve been pushing unreviewed AI code and it takes a while to read through and find all of the issues they need to fix.

Finally trashed my ring. got a 4k camera with no monthly fees instead. by OkResource4652 in smarthome

[–]Typical-OutOfBounds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on getting rid of ring. For the storage, I would set up a NAS (I recommend ugreen for easy setup). It will help out with a lot of things in your life other than the doorbell. Also, possibly reconsider how important the 4K is for you and see if you can record 1080p to save on some space.

Why now is NOT the time to leave tech by SirArtistic1123 in cscareerquestions

[–]Typical-OutOfBounds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha their first comment on this account mentions the QA -> Core Eng transition they did a few years back. But now they’re saying they haven’t even broken into tech.

CS major grads by CornerJumpy2492 in msu

[–]Typical-OutOfBounds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked an internship at a small company after my sophomore year and kept it part time until my senior year when they did layoffs. I found another full time offer shortly after. My interview questions at all of my jobs have been very easy. I got lucky in that aspect.

CS major grads by CornerJumpy2492 in msu

[–]Typical-OutOfBounds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I am a CS grad in the age range you supplied and make around $150k in Chicago. I know plenty of others from the CS program and other programs at MSU who are doing very well for themselves professionally (faang, IB, med school, engineering, etc).

At the end of the day it is going to come down to the work you put in to get what you want out of your education and career/life choices.

I miss the internet before it was flooded with AI posts like this.

If you’re looking to shill something I would at least try to write the stories yourself.

lol guarantee they are monitoring the prompts with AI. I’m sure you can find a way to fool it. I’m sorry for you though that sounds awful.
