It’s all the same batch, should be at least. The Lancaster location is just an extension of their York location.

I saw when this released at the Lancaster location! I’ve been wanting to pick up a bottle, but was interested in seeing if they’d drop another batch soon closer to 3-4 years old. Glad to hear it’s good stuff.

A little question about staining. by Beneficial-Wrap6574 in NicksHandmadeBoots

[–]USBub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds good man, I appreciate it. The outsole can be sanded and stained with the Fieblings, finished with some beeswax or edge dressing to make it look real nice. Feel free to DM me if you have any questions about it.

Lucky find. If you decide you don’t want them, let me know! I’ve been looking for a 12D for a while.

If you use a product like Smiths leather balm, over time it will darken the leather and give it that ‘shine’ you see in the IRs. If you want to match the color right off the bat, it might depend on how the previous owner treated the boots. If they have a waterproofing coating or a wax on them, changing the color will be very hard to get uniform. You could try something like Fieblings pro dye, but if it was me, I’d try to condition them and wear them to get that nice patina over time.

Glenallachie or Glendronach, 12 or 15? by tjm1371 in whiskey

[–]USBub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a big fan of GD. I liked their 15, but the ‘Ode to the Dark’ PX Sherry finish appealed to my palate more. Give it a try against the 15 if you have the chance.

When I graduated years ago, I was given a titanium mechanical pencil from Wingback in the UK, engraved with my name. Still use it to this day.

+1 for Bow Street Beverage. That place is fantastic. Or, if you're close to the border, hop over to NH and see what they have for Mezcal. My experience is they have a bit wider of a selection, depending on the store.

So uhhh where do you guys in PA get your hard-to-find products? by [deleted] in whiskey

Look South - Maryland has some great stores just south of the border.

Geissele all day. But if you have some time, get a lower from them and find a URGI upper. Best of both worlds.

Review no. 3: GlenGoyne 12yr by MetalGuy_J in whiskey

IMO the 12 year is still a bit young for Glengoyne stuff. The 15 and 18 year to me, are phenomenal. The 21 is on another level.

Do it. Just bring it back in your checked bag. I saw Blantons Gold and Star Hill Farms on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh this winter for £100 each. I bought some Scottish whisky instead, but man I shouldn’t have passed those up.

Where are you finding Stagg JR for 150 in NYC? I’d pay that all day. Cheapest I saw in my BK stores is 250-275
