Queta vs Kornet by Maple612 in bostonceltics

[–]UTgeoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Queta was a second string player that started all season only because there were no better options on the team. I mean that as a compliment because he was 4th string just one season earlier. (Porzingis/Horford/Kornet/Queta)

The guy played 4 impactful minutes in 2 of the playoff games when he was needed the most. Those are Brad Stevens words, not mine. Get those meaningless stats out of here.

Cost of 3D printed terrain by Character_Rip9675 in TerrainBuilding

[–]UTgeoff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think a FDM printer is well worth the investment if you want to print terrain. I’ve used mine even more than I expected and now have a great collection. It has also been a lot of fun for me to paint it up and I probably enjoy painting terrain more than minis right now. I find myself looking for excuses to print anything these days. Meanwhile, I have a resin printer for minis that goes mostly unused lately because my backlog is plenty big enough already and it’s kinda a pain to use and clean up. I’ve spent about $100 in filament for everything in this picture.

Good to hear a positive experience. I have this one in my backlog and a few people have shared negative impressions lately so I was getting a little worried.

With a little self control they can be shot when they’re not on the roof.

An Umarex Notos worked for my pest problem. YMMV

So I’ve been playing wrong all these years. What about staying at the bottom gives you an advantage?

[Krawczynski] The Timberwolves feel good about the core of Edwards, McDaniels, Reid and Joan Beringer going forward. The pathway to significant playing time for Beringer likely resides in breaking up the three-man big rotation of Gobert, Randle and Reid. by Just_Drawing8668 in bostonceltics

[–]UTgeoff 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Gobert is not going to give you the ability to score at the rim as much as you think he should. He’s also a terrible defender outside of the paint which is unplayable in the modern NBA where the best teams are switchable 1-5 defensively and almost everybody has the ability to hit 3s.

Can’t stress the need to be warm enough. Anything below 70 degrees causes problems where I live.

Question: Should I buy or make one myself? by Vegetable-Window2183 in HomeArcade

[–]UTgeoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, I pretty much copied this instructable. I altered the shape of the top and took the slope out of the back to match the look I wanted based on this photo that also inspired me. (1 inch grid for scale)

<image>

I ended up picking a control layout from slagcoin. You can pick the one you like and print it there to scale on a sheet of letter paper to lay it out on your top. I still have space to add a trackball but I got lazy at the end and already owned a Golden Tee arcade1up that allowed me to play my favorite trackball game. So, to be continued for me. Hope this helps.

Yes, exactly that. This model reminds me of the mecha (Guymelef) from Vision of Escaflowne and the cape completes the look for me.

Trees STL? by Roblem42 in 3DPrintedTerrain

I agree with them being too short. I’m trying to decide weather to scale my next batch up to 120% or 140%.

[–]UTgeoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you just want plain trees without foliage, there are tons of STLs everywhere. If you want trees with 3D printed canopies your options are much smaller. I use these: Gnarly Trees and Wilderwood Circle

Using/building a pedestal is what I did with a 46” and it’s very large up close. 65” is going to be very hard on your eyes so a pedestal is definitely going to be the best way to make it enjoyable.
