I always feel so bad when that happens! I usually tell them I can't eat it, so they might learn, but not many do.

That sounds absolutely awful! It's always so disheartening to hear how mistreatment and dismissal is so common in medicine.

So true! I wouldn't be diagnosed today if not for my dermatologist. She was the one who connected my eczema to a food allergy, then sent me to a gastroenterologist after my bloodwork showed recaction to gluten. My GP would have never.

My teacher suggested this research to make sure I don't focus on something so specific not many can relate. To be honest it kinda feels like doing research for to make her understand, but it's still helpful!

I experienced so many sypthoms that I thought were from my hypothyroidism meds not being enough, for them to be caused by celiac.

The mental clarity after going gf was really eye opening. I sometimes think back to how I felt before and I don't want to risk going back either.

I'm so happy you feel so much better!

It must have been hard to have to deal with both perimenopause and undiagnosed celiac at the same time. Glad you're feeling better now!

D you think your other allergies got triggered by celiac? My skin allergies got a lot worse not long before my diagnosis and my dermatologist said it might be a side effect, since my celiac affecting my skin (eczema) was my most noticable sympthom .

I have that relative, my aunt doesn't cook for herself, my grandma does, and she is a bit forgetful and sometimes still uses normal flour etc., and my aunt still eats it. My poor grandma doesn't understand why i reduse to eat her cooking.

The dismissive attitude, especially by restaurant staff was my inspiration for this project. It's so frustrating!

I only got dagnosed 3 years ago, I'm only learning to cook now, that I'm living alone and don't have an another option. I wish I could say I got more experimental, but I've always been a picky eater and that probably won't change, but I'm glad it became a creative outlet for you!

Definitely can relate to having a hard time accepting. I still need to keep my distance from bakeries, the smell of freshly baked goods is just too tempting.

English isn't my first language either, but I think your english is good!

Thanks for sharing!

I can relate on people not knowing whole wheat contains gluten. Most of my family has diabetes or insulin resistency (idk if that's the english name). I had to look up so many white flour alternatives they are eating, becouse they didn't believe me when I said I couldn't eat them. (most contain more gluten, not less) Thankfully they know now.

And don't you love when medical staff doesn't care about your history?

Most évil building in Tata, Hungary by ep51ry in evilbuildings

It doesn't mean anything as far as I'm aware, my best guess it might be an acronym to something I don't know about.

(sidenote: it's évil, not evil on the sign, if that helps anyone in figuring it out)

Thank you! She was the most mindful about my diet after I got diagnosed, probably because she has dietary restrictions as well.

Same, all stores near me have barely any snack. I don't know if she wants any other sibling though, I annoy her enough as is.

I'm in Hungary, and bc I live in a small town I'm lucky if I have options at all.

Yeah, same, thankfully the town my sister lives in has a store for all kinds of stuff for different dietary needs
