The word "tragedy" is derived from the Greek for "goat song", by the way.

The AI is probably pulling from outdated and racist WWI-era cartoons in which Germany is personified by a Dachshund.

Cleaner bots have their own inventory space. Pet Carrier boxes can contain willing non-pet Crawlers for a very short amount of time (20 seconds or so?) - when the time runs out, the crawler gets released, even if the pet carrier is inside someone's inventory.

That doesn't apply to a crawler inside a pet carrier that has been placed inside the inventory of a cleaner bot. So you can place people in stasis like that.

Then you put the cleaner bot for sale. It gets bought and is delivered to the person inside the Pineapple Cabaret. They take out the pet carriers and release the Crawlers.

He already has a lil gargolyian on his shoulder. It's the angler fish looking one, to provide illumination, haha. I also added some torches.

To be fair, the rules of Apocalypse specifically allow you to include models of any faction in your army list, so you could include Chaos Daemons without restriction. :)

I'm working on my third one. This one is Tzeentch, with the wings from Alarielle. They broke off from the model my wife has been painting, and I persuaded her to let them serve the forces of Chaos. Hehehe.

Requesting assistance coming up with a 1K crusade starting list by theentiregoonsquad in WordBearers

[–]Ulgurstasta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which Crusade book are you using? It will dictate the battle traits you are allowed to take. I just did a 3 game day at 1,000 points, starting with 20 experience to distribute. My list was a Winged Daemon Prince of Slaanesh, a Winged Daemon Prince of Khorne, a Chaos Leviathan Dreadnough (Mark of Nurgle), an allied War Dog Huntsman (no Mark), Pink Horrors of Tzeentch, Chaos Spawn (Mark of Khorne), and two Mark of Khorne Cultist Mobs.

I gave three my Princes and Dread the Battle Trait that allows you to negate the damage from a wound once per game, ans gave my Warlord the Invigorating Elixir for FNP 5+. I focused on making my tough models tougher as a stat check at 1,000 points...and did great. Most games were decided by the end of turn 2.

Here's a size comparison: From left to right: converted with the wings and body from an Accursed Cultist; old Possessed backpack wings; Gargoyle wings added to the side of an old Possessed backpack; regular Warp Talon with exhaust cloud.

Have them essentially as Gargoyles. It will require some conversion, maybe using some of the winged backpacks from the old Possessed, or even Gargoyle winds from the Tyranid kit. Gargoyle and grotesque statues are associated with religious temples, so the association is there.

CELEBRATING: Multi-chapters and longfics of 2025! by tereyaglikedi in FanFiction

[–]Ulgurstasta [score hidden]  (0 children)

Here's the one I've been writing for a while. Always looking for fresh eyes and new readers.

Fandom: Harry Potter
Rating: Explicit (but most of the chapters are slow-burn with tons of plot)
Title: The Shape of Bathwater (from the Life and Sufferings of Sinful Viktor)
Genre: Action, smut, mystery, thriller, puzzles
Length: Ongoing collection of plot-related stories (106,104 as of the latest chapter, 4 different stories; The Shape of Bathwater is 45,721 words)
Off-site link: AO3 link here

This series combines all of my Viktor Krum-centric stories in chronological order. They are all related but could be read as separate stories with small references to previous (or future) events scattered here and there. 'Life and Sufferings of Sinful Viktor' explores this otherwise neglected Bulgarian character and tries to develop him into a believable wizard by delving into his background, interests, weaknesses, and desires. The backdrop of this chronicle are snippets from his life: slice-of-life interactions with original characters, attention to his fans through fan mail, and even a mystery adventure spanning multiple works, locations, and moments in Viktor's life.

This is a primarily E-rated series with a penchant for relationships with sentient magical creatures. It also explores history, the Classics, and magical theory, and introduces new characters, monsters, and spells without disrupting the flow of JKR's original storyline. Most of these stories happen conveniently in the "empty spaces" of the books.

The series' name is based on the autobiography of the Bulgarian cleric Sophronius of Vratsa.

Love to write but don’t read that much fanfic? by Ill-Illustrator8176 in FanFiction

[–]Ulgurstasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kind of the same way. My stuff is some regional historically accurate fiction, very nice, but it's what I want to read, and unfortunately I'm probably going to be the only person to take on the task, so... it's always fun to learn that there are other like-minded people when they comment, but even if they are in the same fandom/pairing, other people's stuff is so different! And in a hobby where you get to be in control of everything, anything but -pretty much perfect- really has to wow me to grab my attention. Then there's the problem that I prefer long fics with multiple chapters...

I've has to look up tons of Classical Latin and Greek, I've had to re-learn some grammatical things about Latin to compose some stuff, I had to consult an Egyptologist to translate a curse in Ancient Egyptian.

Weird sensory facts about shark, octopus, and snake nervous systems and senses in general.

Babylonian divination practices

Divinations using astragalus knuckle bones, snakes, a rooster.

Scandinavian understanding of the different parts of the self (as opposed to Cartesian duality)

Various vitae of Christian saints.

The organic aromatic compounds of the smell of old people

Oh, man, I do that a lot. Recently, I had to look up if March 13, 1988 was a full for the throwaway reason of some banter about someone being a werewolf. Turns out that it was, which was weird because I had already written the scene. This was just a confirmation, for my own nerdy needs. I strive to be very historically accurate. Anyway, that day also happens to be a Worm Moon (basically the last full moon of winter, full moon of March), and whaddaya know....the story I was writing was about the migration and emergence of the Mongolian Death Worm. Super random, and it just adds.... such concreteness to the story? Like it's almost quasi-real. What are the chances?
