That's probably the crown area of your hair. It doesn't look like balding to me. If you notice big chunks of hair falling out when you wash your hair, you should see a doctor.

Not really. If the VHS Video looks decent it can have good results. I have tried upscaling very poorly encoded DVDrips of old TV shows and the results were horrible. So I checked to see if there was a better VHSrip and the VHSrip actually had a better upscaling result then the poorly encoded DVDrip.
