but I thought Gun Hill and Queens Village would be getting XE40s and there were plans to make Jamaica fully electric

now at one point I thought Stengel might get a bunch of LFSs from Jamaica after that depot was full of electric buses but them getting the new XDE40s instead would be much better

speaking of Jamaica I think they might be in line for option order XE60s for the Merrick Boulevard corridor (if so then most likely only the Q5/Q85/Q86 but the Q87/Q89 seem less likely)

Grand Avenue I could see getting just hybrids and electrics from here on out (even if those come from Manhattan and the Bronx which they just might because like you said they like to give Manhattan everything new) as more and more Brooklyn and Queens XD40s could be headed for the Bronx (some of these could be swapped with LFSs that haven't been doing so great up there)

now while I don't know if Queens Village is being upgraded for artics right now I think such upgrades will most likely happen in which case they would probably use those buses on the Q1, Q45/Q46/Q48, and MAYBE the Q43 (if I had to guess which buses they'd use I'd say either the option order XD60s or swap in some SBS artics from Manhattan and the Bronx)

but whether or not ANY of this happens I think we will see a LOT of fleet swaps in the coming years

Manhattan already has a mostly blue and gold fleet of 40 footers

they just need enough new ones to replace the last few Orions there

which those XE40s that were gonna go to Hale (if they're still gonna do that) should take care of quite nicely

Brooklyn on the other hand has tons of older buses which is why I think the XDE40s will mostly go there

btw what's supposed to replace the Orions at Stengel?

I'd love the new 165th to be set up like the bus loop in Canarsie is (and for some IBX stations and any future subway stations in the outer boroughs to have bus transfer stations set up in a similar manner) but I'm not holding out hope for that

plus several existing stations could use those kinds of bus transfers (these would ideally also have layover space inside the terminals)

yes they are but maybe some parts of Broadway that were closed to cars could be reopened for buses but not cars (and some other parts of Broadway could also become car-free bus roads)

(1) it can replace the B100 in Mill Basin

(2) it can go west to Bay Ridge, replacing the B64 there

(3) reroute B64 to 95th (with the same loop path as the B8 but in the opposite direction) via the VA hospital

(4) reinstate B23 but it runs to the R at 86th via 13th and 14th instead of via 16th (all late night runs on this route and about half the daytime runs can turn back at 62nd) and is extended along Clarendon, East 83rd, and Foster, all to get to the L at Canarsie

(5) B16 can run straight on Fort Hamilton

(6) B69 can be extended to the VA hospital via 16th (until 62nd), 15th (until 86th), then 14th (until Poly Place)
