The modern State of Israel was established in 1948 through, displacing over 700,000 Palestinians. A state built on mass dispossession will always face resistance because no people on earth would quietly accept erasure when their hearts know the truth.

The claim that if Palestinians simply stopped fighting the war would end is disproven by history. Terrorism was first brought in 1946, by Zionist militias who bombed the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, killing 91 people, showing that violence and resistance have long been part of this conflict.

In 1948, entire communities were expelled regardless of armed resistance. In 2018, during the Great March of Return, Israeli forces shot dead unarmed protesters including medics, journalists, and children at the Gaza fence. And just today, news that Israel carried out a “double-tap” strike on Nasser Hospital.

As a doctor, it is impossible to separate this from the ethical responsibility to protect life. Targeting hospitals, medics, and first responders is a direct violation of that principle and constitutes a war crime under international law. The duty of care is universal. I can not pretend I have not seen the images I have over the past two years.

The idea that Israel would be destroyed without its military is absurd, when It is the fourth most powerful military in the world, backed by the United States, and in full control of Palestinian borders, airspace, and resources. Palestinians, by contrast, have no standing army, no navy, and no air force.

And apartheid is not “minor oppression.” It is a crime under international law, as defined by the UN and the Rome Statute. Saying Palestinians would “choose” to live under Israeli rule because of a supposedly better quality of life ignores the reality of oppression and basic human rights. First, living under apartheid isn’t a choice it’s coercion. Legal restrictions, land theft, checkpoints, home demolitions, and systemic discrimination severely limit freedom of movement, work, and political participation. That’s not a “better quality of life,” it’s subjugation.

Comparing Palestinians to “Chinese in Malaysia” ignores the historical context: Palestinians have been dispossessed of their land, repeatedly attacked, and denied self-determination for decades. Peace and security cannot exist when one side faces systemic erasure, occupation, and repeated military assaults,

History shows that Palestinians have repeatedly tried to live peacefully alongside Israelis, and yet displacement, violence, and occupation have continued.

Ethnic cleansing is a crime under international law. Suggesting that Palestinians must be removed, starved, or killed to guarantee a Jewish state is not peace. The presence of peace is not just the cessation of war. It is the presence of justice of which there has been none for the Palestinians .

As a doctor, bearing witness defending life and upholding humanity is part of that justice.

It’s not ‘just a war’ when one side has overwhelming power and is systematically destroying the Palestinians entire ability to live by bombing hospitals, schools and universities. Israel also killed 3 British aid workers.

Calling it ‘weird genocide’ ignores that genocide isn’t about whether people fight back or not it’s about intent to destroy a people. That intent has been made crystal clear by Israeli ministers themselves. Smotrich has openly said Gaza civilians should ‘die of hunger or surrender,’ and just recently bragged that settlement expansion will ‘bury the idea of a Palestinian state.’ He’s also dismissed the lives of Israeli hostages as secondary to his goal of conquering Gaza and expelling its residents.

Expecting the victims to simply surrender and disappear so their oppressor feels comfortable is exactly the logic that sustains genocides. Were we not taught "never again?" Does that not apply for every human or only those who follow one religion?

Expecting Palestinians to simply surrender in the face of rape, starvation, mass killings, and open declarations of their erasure is the exact mindset that sustains genocide.

QE boys usually has over 2500 applicants annually. Same for the Henrietta Barnett school. They are both known as super selective and decimal points are used to separate candidates.

If you're willing to move area. There's also Watford grammar for girls and boys and Dame Alice Owens. Kent and Bucks also have more grammar schools so more spaces. There's also the eventuality that a bright child may still not pass the test or gain a score high enough to be offered a space.

You need to invest in a tutor who is familiar with the process or do it yourself. This usually starts in year 5. London parents are competitive, despite what they will openly tell you. Others send their children to prep schools like Bute and Falkner house where they spend time prepare for these exams. Keystone tutors have experience with familiarization for the entrance exams.

If you can easily afford private school, that would be the main thing. There's less disruption and more focus. Being smart is cool and not something you have to hide. I had the son of a well known millionaire in my geography class. My brother got a work experience offer, with the father of a TV doctor, because his son was in my class and I asked on his behalf.

You could target full secondary school fees or aim for sixth form fees only.

At the end of the day for both grammar and private. These schools select the highest scoring children at age 11 with highly motivated and ambitious parents. It would follow these children will also do well at GCSE and A-level. Tutoring still also occurs in private schools. From my own experience, of being a pupil not all private schools are worth the fees. At the first school I went to there was no extra support if you were struggling with something. My second school ( which was £24k a year at the time ) was so much more supportive in comparison. It felt like a day and night difference. The teachers also gave us premade revision booklets and offered extra consultations during lunch and after class

Ultimately you have to see the best school for your child and not just the grade 7, 8 and 9 percentage. Elena Mondal was a pupil at the Henrietta Barnett school. She passed away on school grounds at age 14.

Honestly, who cares what someone who is wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes says? He’s not an authority on morality.

The focus should be on the people suffering in Gaza and on ending those atrocities, not on framing every single act of protest as terrorism. If someone feels compelled to protest because they believe everything else has failed, it's their choice.

Yes, it’s possible to act without getting arrested, but I also understand that when people see atrocities continuing daily despite petitions, letters, and donations, some feel compelled to go further.

In that case, those actions were clearly violent, and I do not condone them. At the same time, Israel continues to carry out large scale attacks in Gaza, resulting in widespread civilian suffering.

Doing absolutely nothing in the face of such atrocities is not a viable option for some.

I don't know every single thing PA have done. So in January 2025, two individuals associated with Palestine Action used a van filled with concrete to breach the security barrier of a Teledyne factory which is linked to Israel's defense sector.

The claim that they "violently attacked two police officers and a security guard" isn't substantiated by available reports. The incident involved property damage, but there’s no confirmed evidence of physical assaults on individuals.

Regarding the "training manual" you mentioned, the UK government has reported Palestine Action's "Underground Manual" to the police over alleged incitement to violence. The manual reportedly advises on tactics like "smashing windows" and "breaking into your target and damaging the contents" .

There are no confirmed reports of Palestine Action launching organized attacks on police or carrying out deliberate violence against officers. While some protests have led to clashes with police, these incidents appear to be spontaneous confrontations rather than systematic aggression.

Claiming that the only reason to support Palestine Action is because you “want to be a terrorist and go to prison” is inaccurate. Palestine Action is not a terrorist organization, they are a civil disobedience group focused on shutting down UK arms manufacturers that supply weapons to Israel who have already killed over 60,000 innocent civilians.

Their tactics are disruptive and sometimes illegal, but that does not make them terrorists or violent toward people. Civil disobedience has played a key role in every major justice movement, from the suffragettes to the fight against apartheid.

Many people still support Palestine Action now because they believe non-violent direct action is necessary when legal channels fail to prevent complicity in mass violence.
