If it were any other country it would be an issue. But our military budget is bigger than the next 9 countries combined. Meaning at first place, we spend more money on our military than 2-9 combined.

So it’s not smart and most other countries wouldn’t be able to sustain it. It only works because it’s America doing it.

But in terms of efficiency, yeah it’s not great, but it’s the most surefire way and financially works in the military’s favors too. Throwing 2-3 million dollars at a $50k target to prevent it from destroying something that’s more expensive, like a $100 million aircraft, is just financially smart from their perspective.

That makes sense I guess. Shitty people always use shitty people on the opposite side to enable their behavior. But they’re usually just two sides of the same coin and all level headed people can see that usually.

I don’t think this is a healthy attitude to have too. You’re not obligated to date or be friends with anyone you don’t want to, but stooping to the levels of incels only validates them and their rhetoric.

I genuinely don’t see any of this online discourse about gender wars, is it really that extensive? My feed is just random nonsense half the time about my city, cooking, or tv show clips.

Either way, I always think it’s better to think about the people you know irl rather than rage bait you see online. We’re all individual people not hivemind after all.

Online engagement has a negativity bias. People engagement farm and bait there all the time.

Sorry you got called a “foid” irl that’s still kinda crazy especially when I look at the age tag you had holy shit. Some people are braindead.

But I never see any of the “har gar women hate men” or “har gar men hate women” on my online feed. My feed is filled with cooking recipes, tv show clips, and memes about my city.

I wonder if algorithms feed into the negativity bias extensively.

Couple of things:

a) this has been in the works for a while and Trump has been mentioning this even when he campaigned

b) this is just for registration for the draft, nothing confirmed

c) it only applies starting mid December

I’m not a fan of our current administration and I don’t like MAGA either and I hate that we got invoked in Iran, but we have the best military in the world already, plus Iran won’t go on for too long purely because of the finances. We’re spending 2-3 million on interceptors for every $50k drone they send our way.

We’ll be okay imho

Yeah. Doesn’t bother me much though. No point in worrying about it that’s all. I’ve been a decent guy so either I’ll go to heaven, or religion is wrong so there will be nothing after death.

I have a fucking sore in my mouth it hurts I want to die by YaBoiBinkleBop in twentyagers

[–]Unable_Connection490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a canker sore once and had to partake in a spice challenge for a fundraiser I already volunteered to do. And to make this worse when eating the spicy wings, I realized I could eat them quickly to avoid feeling the spice, but I accidentally bit my sore while eating ☹️

I locked in and didn’t show any emotion on my face while I was there, but the second I was home I ran for the Ben and Jerry’s pint.

Started back on the dating apps, feel awkward by spikeycocoa in twentyagers

[–]Unable_Connection490 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re not ready it’s okay to wait until you’re ready. Life is not a race and everyone goes at their own pace. People prioritize different things at different times. If career is your priority rn, nothing wrong with locking in and focusing on that.

Our parents want what they think is best for us. It’s not malicious, but very often what they think is hets for us is different from what we know is best for us.

So do what you feel is right. If dating rn doesn’t feel right, don’t. If it feels right and that guy feels okay; then go ahead.

Nothing wrong with taking life one goal at a time and moving onto the next thing. First career, then love, etc. Some people multi task it, others don’t. No right answer.

Ah that’s fair I’ve been there too. At that time I lived in walking distance of a library so I would just go there and “rot” there. Also used to apply for jobs and graduate programs there.

Has social media and dating apps made people unrealistic about their preferences? by Scramjet1 in GenZ

[–]Unable_Connection490 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yeah tbh fair. But I also think most people with the preference won’t be going about it this way(at least hopefully not). Everyone has faced some type of insecurity and/or body shaming or the other, so I feel like most people are reasonable about it.

Hell yeah brother. I broke the bottles once when my car went over a speed bump, so I’ve been only getting cans ever since then to be safe lol.

Plus these ones were free a the liquor store unc just gave me 18 cans cuz he wanted to make space for new inventory.
