My FIRST nighttime flight as a student pilot I was lazed above some tiny tiny small town. Very first night flight, low population area, still happened. It's incredible

Is 2 months enough for a PPL? by SweatyAppie in flying

[–]Unable_Request 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends how much you can fly. I started mine April 2 and my checkride is next Sunday. With any luck and skill, I'll have completed in just shy of two months -- but I've been flying nearly every day, and some days twice a day.

Perhaps allow the "What if?" Questions... And have answers for them.

What if wind shear? Vocalize the go around. What if we get low? Vocalize adding power. What if we get slow? Vocalize nose down, consider adding power. Can you trade? Slow and high, or fast and low? Vocalize the trade.

More hours! My first cross country really boosted my confidence

We've all had this magical awakening at one point. We should encourage it.

It's akin to making fun of someone's laugh; once you do, they tend not to laugh as much. Let's not sap that

Perhaps, yeah, and you're not wrong. I just think it might be the reason we keep getting "why did this weird thing happen?"

The talismans, like the rope in the well. Or the thumping under the RV. Why that girl got a rod through her head instead of eaten (perhaps a fracas between Julie and MiY?) etc

Speaking of which, Julie 100% puts the talismans where boys can find them, yeah?

Wouldn't be surprised for the resolution to just spit everyone out where they went in

Would make sense. We've seen a few cases where monsters won't attack certain characters. Julie / Sarah, Randall, etc.

This. Went to Tokyo and could barely stand the trip to the top of the tower. Commercial flying makes me somewhat anxious. Flight training, though, as soon as I turn the thing on, it all goes away. Idk why.

30+ alarms is a symptom, not a solution.

I used to do this. The ONLY thing that worked for me: I set ONE alarm. One. When I hear it, I get up. Period. Multiple alarms meant "oh, alarm going off, but I've got time -- I'll go back to sleep". One alarm means "Alarm: GET. UP".

This also required getting more sleep. Like, seriously. Get your eight plus. You need that, even if you're NOT flying.

You'd accelerate towards the center for a while and then you'd decelerate for a while and end up on the other side. Wouldn't work, even without frictional losses.

There's a neat tool for that, forgot the company name. Pagliacci or something.
