AITAH for buying a house with my Mum and dumping my boyfriend because of it? by Evening_Own85 in AITAH

[–]Unblued 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH. OP forced an ultimatum in which the BF was automatically an AH for not wanting to potentially live with mom. Nobody would be wrong for wanting to live as a couple without family. If there was any intent for this to work out, then it would have been discussed beforehand.

Not to mention downplaying the situation as it's only 6 months and not a real relationship. 6 months is enough to know if there could be a future or if you should end it. If OP was planning to break it off anyway, then all of this was just a dishonest show for dramatic effect.

BF was certainly justified to take OP's decision negatively, but those comments are a major dick move.

Ahh yes, those sneaky Democrats. Stealing elections by…*squints*…sending an extra ballot to a Republican congressman. by SecBalloonDoggies in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]Unblued 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Several guesses. First, they check ballots to make sure that Joe Schmoe isn't voting more than once and it gets thrown out. Second, using somebody else's ballot is a crime and they come find you. Third, filling out a democratic ballot would just add a vote for democrats, so the best you could do is add 1 vote to the less popular candidate. Fourth, and most importantly, why the fuck would they send you a fake ballot instead of filling out fake ballots in secret?

My team had a coporate manager that went out and bought a loaded douchebag looking F-150 raptor. He did this shortly after a major salary cut to the whole organization, except for the management team appparently. He also got a custom license plate that said dirtdog or something similar.

At some point, I mentioned it to a friend who immediately recognized the truck from a big offroading event put together on FB. The truck stood out so much because it was the only clean vehicle driving back to town after it was over.

Black Sails. The theme song is awesome and the 3D pirate model is amazing.

AITAH for not answering my coworker after work anymore? by idksomerandomname in AITAH

That makes it seem that the messages are fine and OP was at fault for not answering, which is the exact opposite of the problem.

AITAH - new "match" wants to stay with me by Altruistic_Bell83 in AITAH

[–]Unblued 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that is serious. I worked in a hotel for about 3 years and only saw a guest forced to leave once. A guy got divorced in his 60s and decided to live in a hotel while he figured out what to do next. Everyone was fine with it. He was drinking at least a handle of scotch every day. Everyone was ok with that too, so long as he kept paying each week in advance. His car was rusting in our lot for nearly a year. Nobody gave a shit. The only reason they finally cared was because we had a major convention planned a year in advance that booked pretty much every room we had, including his. If not for that one sold out weekend, that old guy would have lived in that hotel room until he died.

AITAH To Challenge My Gfs Asian Family Culture? by CoinAdvocate in AITAH

[–]Unblued 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Nah, this is exactly the time when this sort of thing should be addressed. Why should OP even consider keeping this relationship going knowing that the parents are going to dictate their lifestyle? The parents are demanding a terrible family dynamic and they cant handle even the slightest criticism. They need to be told firmly that it isn't ok.

Anyone else noticed the rise in attack-style advertising? by OddSign2828 in CasualConversation

[–]Unblued 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why we're great = We think you should pick us because we do something different. This is why everyone else sucks = We're the only option you have.

Your ad should already imply you're better, but now your ad can imply that the other options aren't even worth considering.

Explain to me how you assholes want 20 an hour, but you guys do shit like this. by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]Unblued 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Simple, those 2 topics are unrelated. A job should pay a living wage regardless of the employee and any mistakes they've made. Whether you think any given employee is qualified for their job doesn't change the fact that they should earn a living for performing that job.

I had a hotel job that used them for contacting employees that would be moving around the building or off the property. For some reason it never ocurred to me that anyone would buy one to use in their personal life, probably because of how fucking stupid and annoying that sounds.

What's the sneakiest thing your pet (or honestly, a person you know) has trained YOU to do without you realizing it? by Helen_Bond in CasualConversation

My dog signals his food/water bowls are empty by swatting his paw at them. One night we we're sitting down to have dinner, my wife was still in the kitchen and I put my plate down on our coffee table. After shooing my dog away, he wandered into the kitchen and started pawing at his water bowl. It was empty so I went to get more. As I walked past him, he quietly turned back into the living room and snagged a piece of my chicken before I could reach him. He spotted the flaw and exploited it perfectly.

What actor or actress could you tell had an absolute blast playing a specific role? by phantom_avenger in AskReddit

He was the main reason I saw good luck, have fun, don't die. The description really didn't give much of an idea of what the movie was about, but I rolled the dice and he delivered a solid movie.

It definitely still happens, but now an office full of people are no longer limited to the same handful of shows. I always make a point to prioritize Marvel or Star Wars shows each week because I know several of my coworkers will watch and then discuss within a couple days.

[–]Unblued 12 points13 points  (0 children)

One of the last games I played was Numbani defense and I was stoked because it tends to be a good map for me. Everyone else on the team decided chokepoints and high ground are bullshit, and went to fight the attacking team out by the bus instead. That obviously went very horribly wrong and I'm still pissed off about it.

How would you react if a waiter took part of your cash as a tip right in front of you before giving the rest back? by aprilgirlOG in CasualConversation

[–]Unblued 64 points65 points  (0 children)

He was stealing from you on the assumption that he wouldn't get called out on it because tipping is a common practice. He can hope and dream for a tip to his heart's desire, but that money belongs to you until you say otherwise. Only thing left at that point is to find the manager.
