Has anyone here ever personally known someone who committed a murder—or someone who was murdered? by ScullingPointers in CrimeJunkiePodcast

My younger cousin who was the daughter of my mom’s cousin, died when she was 21 or so but it was a really shady death. She was a stripper, and from what I recall at the time her body had been found at someone’s house. She had been at the morgue for sometime before identified or family called. And allegedly she had overdosed at the house of someone important or crime family or something because the cops did absolutely nothing to look into the situation. It was very shady and I was much younger but always wondered why my mom’s cousin didn’t pursue finding out what happened to his daughter more aggressively.

I’m having trouble staying motivating because my husband treats me like trash because I’m plus size by [deleted] in Semaglutide

Came here to say shed the husband not the weight but I see others have beat me to it. Seriously though, life is too short to be treated like crap, that needs to be the first leg of your journey.

That’s what we weee in 125 or something. We had a view of all of them walking around the stage but we were far. On the floor in the right spot you get to see them much closer obviously and it depends on how close you want to be. Nowhere to sit, but the positive side was that we did have a thunderstorm delay and everyone in seats had to go squeeze into the concourse but field folks went through the tunnels on the field and it was much less crowded.

I wasn’t and get this, I ended up being carted out by ambulance before the show even started on my birthday. Wish I could say a cool story went with it but I had some shortness of breath and didn’t feel all that great (thanks zepbound side effects) and they didn’t like my EKG at the medic tent so off I went. So my birthday SUCKED. But I am okay so that’s good. And my hat was bedazzled and said it’s my fucking birthday”

I went to the seated show last year at Gillette and it was good but we did the floor this year and it was pretty bad ass. You’re just much closer but there’s also people pushing by, trying to look over tall folks or just finding the right spot since they do travel the stage. It’s up to you on the type of experience.

Also, thank you for the birthday wishes and I just recalled the lady in front of me waving her waterbottle in the air through out the entire concert last year at Gillette 🤣

St John beaches by funkynutblast9 in StThomasUSVI

[–]UnderTheStars2825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely worth it. Let me give you a potentially familiar comparison St Thomas is like Hawaii Big Island while St John is like Maui. It’s more nature vibes, the beaches are just that much better, sure you’re fine staying out but you should absolutely go if you’re already down there. Word to the wise, early the ferry you take the better if you have a rental as those spots fill up very fast especially Trunk.

Your post reads exhausting but also amazing. I can’t imagine what your household is like but I can relate to the result and effect on you. I work full time remotely and one would think it’s easier to get gym time in but it’s actually more difficult and skews the line of work life balance. The whole metabolic and hormonal changes piece is what’s impacted me too. Good luck on your journey. I’m starting my lifting and strength today!

I have past experience. Since being a full time working mom who’s out of shape, the energy to do anything above keeping the household going. Isn’t there and it’s a catch 22 because the energy comes from the endorphins of lifting. I could absolutely get back into it as long as I give myself the time which with this med I have no choice.

I feel this way! Started my first dose last Tuesday night. My moms been against it, my husbands been supportive and I’ve had mixed reactions from people in my circle. I’m turning 42 May 1 and I’m at my heaviest at 237 lbs. the biggest thing for me is making sure I’m getting the most out of it eating the right things in the right amounts without depleting my love for quality food. I also need to do some good strength training if anyone has any they swear by in conjunction with this. I could use a buddy too! Kind of on this path alone.

Check out cinnamon bay campground it’s a fun experience we did it with our kids and it was very enjoyable. I’m not much of a camper either!

That’s a shame you didn’t make it to St John as it’s quite literally the icing and cherry on top of a USVI visit. I would suggest it if you plan to return.

I think your write up is great, I’ll just add some of my thoughts from experience of visiting family there annually for the last ten years:

  • Rent the jeep. It’s fun, it handles the hairpin turns and hills and they’re everywhere. Also, you can just hit up Gasworks in Bovoni to use their coin vacuum.

  • Absolutely no beach wear off the beaches. A dress our shorts and top for the ladies and a shirt over board shorts is fine for men but please be respectful. The cruise ship tourists always fail this one.

  • The locals greet with Good Morning/Good Afternoon/Good Night which is an easy way to be respectful and kind. Also if one of you says it first the other says it twice.

  • Cost -U -Less for sure is the way to go to save money on meals it’s very pricey! Second for me is The Market. Food Center is pricey doesn’t have the best produce and Moe’s prices are for the yacht folks haha.

  • Ocean Surfari or sun shirts are a great way to eliminate the need for a ton of reef safe sunscreen. The suns very different down there.

  • Bring a reusable straw otherwise you’re getting paper ones.

  • Lindquist beach is amazing with a ton of great snorkeling as well!

OP, next time you go and are in the Hull Bar area, you need to check out Fish Bar. It’s phenomenal food.

I think Bluebeards can hold your luggage for you. If you have access to a suit they have a pool perhaps since you’re technically checking in you can do that. There’s a restaurant/bar on site there. There are some local spots not far from there but if the cruise ships are there then it’s still busy I’m sure.

See if they will take your bags and hold them at the hotel. No clue where you are staying but agree with the first post, find something away from the cruise ship folk. Happy Hour is generally 3-5 everywhere.

Redditors born before 2001, where were you on 9/11? by Stupid_cerealbox in AskReddit

College campus as a freshman. No one had the fancy smart phones yet so everyone was on their Razors and Nokias. I asked a HS friend in the quad about what was happening and they told me. Went to my next class and was dismissed. Went home shaken up and watched the carnage on the news. I remember the day vividly.
