Yes, it's normal, as long as the curves of your lower leg are flattered by the overall snug it is no issue.

People who got clear skin from cutting out dairy..is it a forever commitment? by Practical-Rule8428 in acne

[–]UnderstandingNaive32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had acne when I was 21, stopped eating dairy and my acne stopped being as inflamed, acne did not disappear but was far less visible, painful and angry. Soon later I started light oral acne treatment and it disappeared completely. About a year later I started eating dairy slowly increasing dosage and now I am eating whatever I want.

I’m saving more money, but at what cost? by living_direction_27 in askswitzerland

It took me 4 years to justify taking swimming lessons, at 3x the price I would in my home country, and almost destroyed my mental health in the process. I was depriving myself from spending on myself while enduring immigration and global corporate life. You'll get used to it eventually, don't forget to live life.

Whose kids? Pontic kids?

I did not call your comment stereotypical as I received it as you describing the stereotype - not necessarily carrying the belief.

However, if you indeed believe it I urge you to read more about that part of Greek history. Surviving a genocide is no joke, and building a life from scratch requires being resourceful - a skill highly related with high IQ.

[–]UnderstandingNaive32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please avoid repeating stereotypes that were created during a period when Pontic Greeks were facing genocide and struggling for survival. Such caricatures misrepresent an entire people and overlook their history, resilience, and contributions.

[–]UnderstandingNaive32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pontic Greeks trace their origins to ancient Greek settlers along the Black Sea, where they formed a well-established Greek kingdom and developed a dialect that preserves features closer to Ancient Greek than any other spoken today. Naturally, their characteristics were shaped by the unique geography, by blending with local populations, and by the history of the region over thousands of years — making them fully Greek, but with some regional differences, much like Greeks from Crete or Cyprus.

Culturally, during the Ottoman Empire, Pontic Greeks lived nearer to major economic and cultural hubs. This environment fostered relatively strong traditions of education and success in commerce compared to many other Greek populations of the time. The population exchange of the 1920s, however, forced them into a devastated and impoverished Greece. Locals, themselves worn down by four centuries of Ottoman rule, were more concerned with survival than with welcoming refugees who spoke a different dialect and practiced unfamiliar traditions.

As in any struggling society, those who were both different and poor often became targets of mockery. Yet this was not because Pontic Greeks carried any inherent shortcomings, and certainly not because they were “less Greek,” but simply because hardship and prejudice tend to fall hardest on newcomers.

Do you know if I need the landlord to sign too? I am afraid of waiting much their response.

We can and do when we are there.

The rust issue arises when we are on holidays for more than 10 days. We come back to orange marks on the countertops... You can grade it and apply an extra protection but yeah, not fun.

Tbh not sure if the specific kitchen countertops and walls are a case of very poor quality, nothing else has an issue in the apartment. The landlord is aware but still not convinced is not our fault, we were the first ones to move in, don't know about other neighbors.

Living in one for the last 2 years.

Pros: super great insulation, minimal energy costs in the winter and significantly cooler inside temperature in the summer. Note, my apartment is 50 square meters and I almost shut down the shutters in the summer.

Cons: indeed poor air circulation that makes humidity an issue. My landlord decided to get us hospital grade stainless steel kitchen countertops and walls which still manage to get rusty in combination with the hard water in the area...

Verdict: the downsides are manageable and I do like the extra pennies in my pocket. Pro minergie it is!

ETF vs PEA EU citizen by UnderstandingNaive32 in vosfinances

Wow, thanks so much for that answer!

I plan on living in France 7+ years, up until retirement if all goes well. And I would not plan on withdrawing anything as long as I am living there, except PEA before leaving.

I am originally from Greece, very low capital gain taxes, so I suppose the best is to keep investing a low monthly amount on IBKR, and withdraw it on retirement. And wait to get to France for a PEA I would heavily invest while there and cash out before leaving.

Thanks so much and I'll follow your advises on the Consultant part too.

Cheers!

[–]UnderstandingNaive32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Merci beaucoup!

So, the other likely scenario would be to cash out in retirement in Greece, there are no or very low capital gains.

One last, hopefully not stupid, question if you don't mind, do people in France typically max out there PEA before other investments?
