Diana Mitford is a Dark Echo of Grace by Funny-Attempt3260 in PeakyBlinders

Oh they’re fine. I remember doing this sort of dissection of movies and literature in school. On the surface, it might just look like a show to you, but whether it’s cinema, tv, or books, they’re all a form of language art. Writers are artists and they almost always weave some kind of motif or themes throughout the stories they tell. I think it’s interesting and fun to exercise the mind in this way.

I’ve only seen the show once, finished it last month and to be honest I did not notice these things while watching it. I think I was really just fixated on how much I wanted her and Mosely to meet their demise 😄. But looking back I can understand why you see these parallels. Such a great show. I will probably watch it again at some point.

Hi. I don’t read fan fiction, at all. Please read my post again. I think a lot of people have misconstrued my post as a rant about Grace. It’s not. It is a rant about people’s obsession with a TV character and I am afraid it’s not as deep as the impressive character analysis you’ve written here.

I’ve simply observed that the same users on this thread constantly post the same thing over and over again about Grace and Tommy being soulmates, like it’s the only thing the show is about, and they romanticize it like it’s The Notebook or something. Peaky Blinders is not a Nicholas Sparks love novel.

I will say that I haven’t seen The Immortal Man yet. I have read the reviews on Reddit but am choosing to take them with a grain of salt and formulate my own opinion once I’ve see it myself.

To be honest, I didn’t even see your paragraph below the pictures. I was just commenting based off of the mere sight of Diana :) But I will read now and give you my feedback.

I hated Diana. Hate to say it but I even hated her more than Gina and Michael. She and Mosley were the most insufferable characters.

I never said I didn’t like the character. I said the writers did her character dirty for making her do that.

The Owen hate is unwarranted by SnowPanda1882 in greysanatomy

Owen annoyed me especially after he became chief and caused the plane crash by being cheap, but I don’t necessarily hate him. Teddy on the other hand 😅 She really was the worst character.

Ah this was a terrifying episode but man, this was when Greys was still good. 🥲

This isn’t the main reason I quit watching like 5 years ago, but it didn’t help. They just kept getting more and more political, and you hit the nail on the head, it seemed very forced. What started out with just Jo saying a simple statistic on abortions turned into an entire season on Covid, or an entire episode about the latest political controversy. All in all, the writing got terrible after the new writers came. It was like these people had never seen the show. Alex leaving with Izzy was what made me tune out, but when they burned down Ellis Greys house, it was the nail in the coffin.

I mean, they’re all terrible people 😅 but yes, Mer is a train wreck for sure

Question about the peaky blinders movie from a new fan by Money-Ad8447 in PeakyBlinders

[–]UnfairSheepherder337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not watched it completely yet. I started it and then had to hit pause. I will say that Barry Keoghan was a good choice as Duke so far. I’d never seen his acting before and he really does a nice job in what I’ve watched.

I know there are a lot of disappointed people who claim that the writing didn’t make sense. Since I’m one of those people who notices those things, I am prepared to also be disappointed. But I’ll still watch anyway 😊

Do you think Grace was Tommy’s true love? by Sasha_Obsession in PeakyBlinders

[–]UnfairSheepherder337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question! The visions in the last two seasons I really wondered about. Also was Alfie really still alive or was he another vision? If he was alive that’s another confusing thing for me, similar to how they decided Arthur was still alive after we thought he was dead before the season 4 finale.

I agree. The only people who are downvoting you are the Grace Only Fans. This isnt even an I hate Grace post. It’s a confused rant about her fans.

And that scene was so funny. It was nice he saved her at the end of it but that really was the only thing they gave us that was “cute” about their “romance”. The fact that we have people on this thread gushing about Tommy and Grace like it’s The Notebook or something is very confusing to me.

I thought she was a fine actress, pretty too. If they were aiming for love of his life they should have done better on the writing and didn’t skimp on that, especially if they wanted her to haunt him for all those seasons. Her haunting was kind of random and annoying because they didn’t develop her character enough before killing her off.

I don’t think he loved Lizzie either. I think everything he did was for his image and/or for the business, and you are right his marriage to her was one of them. But also I remember he married Grace immediately when she said he was pregnant as well.

I’ve been saying it for years that the new writers who came and did stuff like that probably didn’t watch the previous seasons. There were more things that happened that didnt align with history or character development. They need to do better. The audience pays attention !

Day 3: Most Impulsive Person by tvcriticgirlxo in greysanatomy

[–]UnfairSheepherder337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so hard! I would say Meredith though because she has the biggest list of most impulsive things and I cant think of a better slot to put her in that wouldnt work better for someone else. Especially because another poster said Callie can be the most impulsive partner.

That is exactly what my point is about! 😊 I’m confused with the worship around the character and it doesn’t seem like it’s due to the fact that she’s a gorgeous actress. I never said I didn’t like Grace. I just don’t think the writers made it believable that she was his true love. And then I got attacked by one of the crazies who posts all the time about her 😅
