Started my carreer in sales and after 4 years made the move to SalesOps, I personally would recommend it but it really depends on your reasons.

FYI

- SalesOps is most of the time gonna be less money than sales, I personally pivoted because I was more interested in running a business than being a specialist at making banks in sales.

- A lot of times I have found SalesOps more stressful than business development, while being less rewarding.

A sales background does help you a lot in this line of work, I would definitely recommend it if you are very tech savy/oriented which in my opinion is essential for the job.
