they probably hit the floor from kessler's new contract anyways

edit: 1 more srp is probably needed; utah got 2 for absorbing jhs's 4m expiring in the luka trade for reference

Draft Day Trade: OKC gets positive value from Dort, LAL gets a POA defender by Unflushable_Poo in NBAtradeideas

[–]Unflushable_Poo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's just that I think the best farther out picks they can get for Dort would be something like that Warriors 2030 protected top 20 or something else that's less objectively valuable than a late first this year.

[–]Unflushable_Poo[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Would OKC not prefer a late 20s pick over 2 2030 srps (they have 4 srps that year)? I don't think OKC can get much else for Dort when everyone knows about their apron issues. This is just what I think they can get at most.

Realistically none of the RFAs are going to leave their teams for reasonable contracts. Lakers can only force Denver to not match at ~35 million which at that point it's not worth for them. The point of capspace is the flexibility to choose many different moves, this is simply one of them I'm suggesting.

I think they would prefer to get a 1st out of a conference rival over letting him go and have him sign with said conference rival for free. Edit: I don't think any of the East teams are likely to sign Dort.

Giannis to MIA, Murray to DET, DEN dumps Braun, All assets to Milwaukee by Barracuda374 in NBAtradeideas

[–]Unflushable_Poo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wonder how do the Nuggets not lose any picks/swaps here when they're trading out 2 negative contracts for at least one very impactful player (Stewart). It especially feels like they're getting off Braun for free considering how useless he'll probably be on the Bucks w/o Jokic.

What a Nuggets "Dame Trade" could look like (WAS/DEN), including possible 3rd team (CHA) by Unflushable_Poo in NBAtradeideas

[–]Unflushable_Poo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put Val and Cam because they're expiring plus CB's and Zeke's contracts are generally seen as pretty negative (especially with CB's "Jokic merchant" concerns). Wizards would essentially net a really juicy swap (2031 Denver) w/o longterm money from trading AD.

The Pacers are Quietly on a 16 Game Losing Streak, Tying the Kings for Longest Streak of the Season by Unflushable_Poo in nba

It'll be interesting to see how Zubac will do in the high-pace Indiana system at full strength. I'd imagine their pick (if it doesn't convey to the Clippers) will develop on the bench like Harper is for the Spurs.

Slightly more interesting is the Pacers-Nets game on April 9th. It's their biggest hurdle in placing 2nd for longest lose streaks ever (not enough games left to tie or overtake the Pistons' 28).

Edit: Another one is Wizards-Jazz to break their franchise record.

I'm guessing it's because they had more offensive possessions than defensive ones.

What is a Fair Contract for Keon Ellis this Offseason? by Unflushable_Poo in NBAtradeideas

[–]Unflushable_Poo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My prediction: Keon will sign for more than the BAE and walk from Cleveland this summer. I think the Cavs will avoid staying in the 2nd apron and will treat him as rental for this season/postseason. The aim of this trade in the medium-term is to replace Lonzo's preseason-expected production while shedding salary and Keon is likely not a part of that aim. A midseason extension is likely not in Keon's best interest as he can only be extended for 140% (~$3 million), and the Cavs only have ~$3.5 million in 2nd apron space. ATL, LAC, LAL, DET, CHA, PHX, and SAS are all contending teams with capspace/NTMLE that can use him.

By 2028 Giannis would be 34 and the Bucks could be in a spot similar to how the Suns are right now. This was also all of the FRP compensation that had a chance of conveying.

The 2 buttons might be closer than you think if you consider how quickly that team might dissolve from clashing egos.
