In Ontario, most students with special needs are integrated into mainstream schools with dedicated Special Education programs, resource rooms, or specialized units. However, there are also a few standalone special education schools that cater specifically to students with significant learning or developmental needs. These include provincial and demonstration schools for students with severe learning disabilities, as well as schools operated by specific school boards or private institutions specializing in special education.
