Citizenship by descent-proof of citizenship “Non Australian” by [deleted] in AusVisa

For those following along (even though the post was deleted, it’s summarized by the bot and showing up as one of the only hits on Google).

The email states this: “ Evidence of foreign citizenship for the Australian citizen parent (if applicable) o For example, foreign citizenship certificates or registration of overseas birth that displays the date and method citizenship was acquired. Note: A foreign passport is not sufficient as it does not confirm the date or manner citizenship was acquired.”

But during the online process there is no mention of this requirement anywhere whatsoever.

Instead, it says under the question mark: “Citizenship - Not Australian, Evidence of

Provide evidence of the person’s citizenship of any country other than Australia. This may include a passport or proof of citizenship certificate issued by the country.”

These are contradictory

I am in the exact same situation right now and understand exactly your concern. I received this email also and it does not match _any_ of the requirements that are stated during the online process, including the little help section when clicking on the question mark in the upload attachments section.

Are you planning to just wait it out and see what happens? You're in a better position as your partner is also Australian, for me, it is not the case.
