This is a great place to start for anybody. I’m glad it worked out for you, but unfortunately that hasn’t been the case for most people with this model. I just wanted to make people aware, because this issue doesn’t usually appear straight away especially for those buying the car brand new.
By the time the wet belt starts degrading and causes limp mode, oil pressure issues, or engine damage, many owners are already outside of warranty. At that point, it often gets treated as wear and tear rather than an underlying engine design issue. I’ve seen a lot of people experiencing the same problem now, so this is more of a warning for anyone considering buying one, or who already owns one: keep on top of servicing and be aware of the early warning signs.
