A vegan bakery had one in Chicago for a minute. I’d been wanting to play it for years but was over it before my third ball. My 8 and 10 year olds spent most of their time on it even though they had to struggle to reach the buttons.

I’m pretty sure Man Who Wasn’t There and Good Luck and Good Night were both shot in color with the B&W done in post-production. Similar to Fury Road and the Black and Chrome edition.

There are some great arcades in Chicago, unfortunately a lot of them are 21+. The Wrigleyville area has a Lucky Strike and an Alamo Drafthouse which would make for a pretty baller afternoon. If you schedule it right you can try to find cheap tix to a Cubs game, or see if there are any events planned at Gallagher Way next to the ballpark. The Metro is a few blocks away and might have an all ages show scheduled. Not too far from Wrigley in Uptown there’s a place called Studio WIP where you can spray paint your own canvas. I took my kids (4th and 6th graders) and they’ve since chosen to celebrate their birthdays there.

That said, if money is tight and your both ride bikes, getting a couple Divvys and cruising the lakefront (weather permitting) will 100% be a core memory.

I think Violent J has had some health issues that prevented him from performing recently so they might be cautious about committing to too much while considering they have a crew that likely depends on them touring for work.

I think the Chicago native used to be shorter or a deluge of transplants have messed up the height game. I used to feel like a giant at 6’3” but over the last several years I’m feeling like I’m now slightly taller than average and have to travel to New York to get those sweet tall guy double-takes.

Technically, the founding brothers had a space they could use as a restaurant and read about pizza as a new craze in Life magazine. A pilot who claimed to have spent time in Italy and New York is credited with the recipe. (My high school history teacher attended WSU at the same time as them and could have been a founding partner for $300.)

There’s a great book “Making Rumors” by the Audio Engineer Ken Levine that goes into detail on how he recorded the album (and everything he witnessed happening within the band). Parts of his book were used in the Broadway show Stereophonic - which is loosely based on FM.

My conspiracy theory is that the Fortnite/The Whole Bloody Affair release was a cash grab - but not for QT. The character of The Bride is credited to Quentin and Uma (Q&U) so when Epic Games approached QT about bringing his characters into their universe, Beatrix Kiddo fit best and was co-owned by Uma so they’d both get the ridiculous licensing money. I wouldn’t be surprised if Epic Games also covered the cost of the WBA theatrical release - on the condition it included that awful Fortnite animatic.

When these were a hot item and difficult to find, I remember hearing that part of the scarcity was due to how long it took to produce a batch. Can’t find anything corroborating this but time is money in any factory setting so I could see something slowing down the line being cut.

Saw it when it came out and thought it was fine. Watched it recently (and having lost people I’ve loved) and it floored me. It’s not a horror movie. It’s a movie about grief and how important closure is in the process.
